Yesterday morning I was in the bath, with various cats playing around in the room as usual. Persil was scrabbling with something on the tiled shelf at the end where I keep a bowl of soaps, lotions etc. Suddenly she jumped off the shelf with a bar of lemon soap in her mouth and ran out of the room! I didn't follow her then for obvious reasons. Well, I have not yet found the soap and I can't imagine what she wanted it for or where she has put it. It seems to me that soap, especially lemon scented, would be everything a cat would hate. Has anyone else had a cat who took soap?

i've heard of cats who enjoy eating oranges, so maybe Persil isn't one of those who hate citrusy scents. Anyway, keep an eye out for bubbles being belched out... she may have taken to ingesting soap!

I had a dog once that ate soap. I have had the kitties lick the bars of soap before, but they don't eat it. I hope he put it to good use and washed behind the other kitties ears !

Well, no sign of soap yet, either from Persil or anywhere else in the house. Wellington has lost his collar magnet too, so the cleaning lady will have to be vigilant on Tuesday!

No soap yet here - but Harley loves to take my razors out of the shower and put them on the floor (they are covered at all times - the razor part) and sometimes I find them behind the toilet, I have no idea why he takes them! It might be beacuse they are really bright colors, or maybe he wants to shave his legs too?!

That is so funny Jenny. Sweet Persil just wants to make sure she'll always be clean now since she started out so dirty.

Our daughter used to like soap when she was little. John left her in the bathtub for a minute to run and grab something one night and when he came back she had the soap in her hand and had taken a couple nibbles out of it. Naturally, threatening to wash her mouth out with soap for saying naughty things wasn't an option.

The cats house, we just pay the mortgage..
haha thats really good. I believe that cats have a special place in all our homes where they hide things. We can NEVER find out where it is. They hide things like, hair elastics, kirby grips, little plastic balls (we have lost 7), and a whole bunch of other things including other toys.
Theres no point in looking for the soap its banished forever to their secret kitty hiding place.
