my kitten suki snuck out a few weeks ago while in heat >_< and we think shes pregnant but arnt sure, her nipples are pink (except for 1 or 2) and she hasnt gone back in to heat, any thoughts? (shes 9 months old)
wells fixing costs money, which i dont have, cant be helped >_< i have enough for freddy to be fixed, which i will be working on tomorrow. and if there are little kittens in the future, we wont be keeping them, lots of people wanting kittens here ^_^Originally Posted by CommonOddity042
definately get all of them fixed. why are you waiting so long to fix them? all the wait will lead to is more kitties who need to be fixed, if you've got two possibly pregnant kittens.
ya she might of been preggy, but she went back into heat a few weeks after that little scareOriginally Posted by Kumbulu
Channy, isn't Cookie also possibly pregnant to Freddie? (I was reading your other thread here: http://www.thecatsite.com/forums/showthread.php?t=74227.)
Please consider having both cats spayed and Freddie neutered now or you will soon be completely overrun with kittens!
pepole saying that they want something and actually taking it when it comes around are two different things. two possible litters of kittens are far harder to place than you might want to believe.Originally Posted by Channy

Channy....may I recommend that you talk to a local rescue group to see if they would be willing to fund the spay. The vet may even be willing to give you a deep discount or spay her for free. Definately take your male cat to be neutered.Originally Posted by Channy

hm i dunno, havnt thought bout those things, wells im guessing if there was anything seriousley wrong with suki if she is pregnant my mom would pay with her credit card jus have to wait and see . freddie is in a different room when there in heat, he has no interest in them when there out of heat. only for playing and cuddling when there out of heat.Originally Posted by Jen
What if this cat is pregnant? If you cannot afford to fix the ones you have, how are you going to fix all those kittens and get them their shots and everything?
What if your poor female, who shouldn't have babies that young in the first place, has a problem and requires emergency vet care? That is going to cost a ton of money. If she needs the emergency vet care, the cost of that AND to alter and vaccinate and worm the kittens and then still spay the mother on top of that is going to really put you in debt. Can't you pay with a credit card? or borrow the money? or look for a low cost clinic?
And do you have the females in a completely different room then the male? At ALL times?
nah we already know people that want kittens, shouldnt be too hard, not alot of ppl here own cats, its strangely underpopulatedOriginally Posted by CommonOddity042

there arnt any rescue groups here, there all in the city, and they dont accept cats from here, sadly alot of cats in the city are being placed in humane soceitys and whatnot, so no help for us out in the small towns, we have alot of people around here that would gladly take a kitten.Originally Posted by TNR1

There may be people who want kittens...but I'm sure they could find them at the local shelter...in a few months it will be kitten season. It shouldn't be about supplying people with kittens..it should be about what is best for the cat and I'm concerned you won't be able to afford it if she has any difficulties.

Channy....just as long as you realize that YOU are ultimately responsible for every life your cats bring into this world. Additionally, you need to keep both females INSIDE until you have had them vet checked and verify whether they are indeed pregnant (that means you need to keep them from getting out even accidentally!!) Also, you will need to plan to have both spayed once the kittens are weaned if they are pregnant and if they aren't...they need to be spayed ASAP.Originally Posted by Channy

i know that, but my freddie is pretty odd, he is only interested in playing with the girls, and trying to look cute for jasmine..Originally Posted by Jen
I just want to make sure you are aware that males who are mature are interested in females all the time, not just when they are in heat. Males could care less if the female is in heat at the time or not. If he is interested, he will go for it not matter what. She doesn't have to be in heat in order to get pregnant either, females can get pregnant at any time.
