Do I really, I mean ~really~ need to remind people to be helpful in this Forum?
Channy, in your original post, you asked:
my kitten suki snuck out a few weeks ago while in heat >_< and we think shes pregnant but arnt sure, her nipples are pink (except for 1 or 2) and she hasnt gone back in to heat, any thoughts? (shes 9 months old)
My thought is that yes, it is entirely possible that Suki is, in fact, pregnant. If she was out while in estrus a few weeks ago (more than 4 weeks?) and hasn't come back into cycle yet, it is a good bet that she is expecting kittens.
While I do agree that 9 months is young to be having kittens, the truth here is that the gestation period of cats is a little over TWO MONTHS, so Suki would be 11 months when she delivers ... still a bit young, but she will most probably be just fine so long as she receives excellent care during her pregnancy. Be sure to feed her a good, high-quality kitten food in both dry and canned and make certain she gets as much as she wants. She will need the extra resources to make it through nursing her litter when they arrive. You will need to continue feeding her as much as she will eat after the kittens arrive as well. Providing the total nutritional needs of a litter of kittens takes a lot out of a girl!
In the interim, read up on caring for cats here at TCS. Feel free to post any questions you have either here in this Forum, or you can also send them to me directly either by private email or private message. I am always happy to help.
I will say that the other posters here have offered you an alternative should you choose that option. Spaying your girl now will, of course, mean that your girl won't be having kittens, but it is a very personal decision and one you should absolutely NOT feel pressured into making.
