bloody mucas

my boys has had a small amount of a bloody mucas substance near and around his rear end. i have not seen any changes in him other wise. what is this? what do i do?

Could be worms, could really be anything, low-quality food...coccidia, hard to say but a vet could easily tell you.

he is now eating purina vitality 7+ year formula. he weighs 18 pounds and is 9 years old, very active. i did have a bunch of flowers. he mainly ate a little babys breath? any ideas?

he is 9 years olld, eats purina vitality formula, i think he has been eating the babys breath out of a bunch of flowers at home

my kitten had bloody mucous around his butt and his poop was the same way. the vet said the roundworms had encysted in his intestine and his growth was probably aggrivating them and causing the muscle to bleed. a dose of dewormer from the vet took care of it.

Otis had bloody muscous in his stool when he was a baby. He had gotten coccidia at the humane shelter. Keep an eye on him when he goes to a bathroom, try to sneak in and see what consistancy it is, I know... gross lol. And deffinatly take a stool sample in.

Could be worms. I had experienced this with a puppy once. Id take him to the vet. Good luck!
