My kitty is sucking his tongue.

Not like there is anything wrong with that, but I'm wondering what could cause this behavior?

I assume it is something like having a pacifier. Does this mean he is stressed and comforting himself? or is it just a kitty quirk?

I'd like to hear the answer to this too. Jazzie does it when she's happy and relaxed and it's always looked to me too like a kid sucking it's thumb.

I had a cat who sucked his tail. He did it for comfort. He was a black cat and the end of his tail went brown.

When I took him to the vets to be castrated the nurses were fasinated when I called to fetch him they said in amazement 'Did you know he sucks his tail' I had to laugh at the looks on their faces. Aparently he had been quite an attraction throughout the day. He used to hold his tail between his paws like a bottle and suck.

Maybe you cat sucks it's tongue for comfort too.
