I'm going on a cruise!!!

I am soooooo excited! DH and I were looking to take a vacation to somewhere warm next month. Well we were thinking Florida, but by the time you get a hotel, flight, rental, etc, it was more expensive than a cruise! So yep! We're booked for a cruise!

Our ports of call are in Key West and Calacia/Playa del Carmen. I went on a cruise when I was 16 and we went to Key West and Cozumel. It was a blast but since I went with my mom (and a ton of people from church, so I had lots and lots of friends with me!) I didn't have to do much, like pay for taxis or think of all that other stuff. So I'm full of questions and stuff. Things like how do you get to the port from the airport, last time we met someone from the cruise line and took a bus. But we'd all booked with a travel agent in this huge group so I didn't know if that's why. I'd appreciate any advice you might have! Also about flying, I haven't flown since that cruise. I need to check how best to pack and what to pack too.

I will defiantly try to get some pictures of the cats around Ernest Hemingway's house in Key West! And there was this really neat cat gift shop there I want to see if I can find. They had 3 of their kitties right there in the shop! I think I found the name online so I'm gonna cross my fingers!

Now the last problem is finding a dress for formal night!

You should try to go someday. It was suprisingly affordable! I don't know if it's just the time of year or if they've gone down in price, but it really was! I mean I know the one I went on before cost much more than this one. It was a grad present and we went in August. The one I went on before was the most relaxing vacation of my life. I ate like a queen! Plus all the entertainment, different stops, activities, etc. It is very good money spent in my oppinion! Everyone should pamper themselves to one once in thier life time!

It does sound like so much fun though - I've never gone on a trip like that before, I know, I'm deprived!

Lucky you!!! I'm so happy for you! Someday I want to go on a cruise to Alaska. I have heard cruises are THE thing to do, I can't wait to go on one...someday.

I am totally addicted to cruising too

We just booked one a couple of days ago for Feb. 4. Yep...two weeks away! UGH Oh well at least I don't have to wait too long right?

What ship are you sailing?

The cruise line meets you at the airport and gets you either to your hotel or the ship and returns you to the airport, at the end of the cruise. They even take care of picking up and checking your luggage.

They only do this if you buy your air fare or "transfers" from them. For a first time cruiser this is the way to do it.

For me it's way too expensive to do it that way. We book our own air and take a taxi. If I was unsure what the port I was cruising out of, I would buy transfers for sure.

Oh I am SUCH a cruise fanatic! My best friend and I plan one every year. We're actually in the process of figuring out where we want to go this year.

I think that message board that was already supplied should be able to give you all the answers you need, so I just wanted to tell you to have a BLAST and go wild! Cruises are great venues for that kind of behavior.

I myself have never been on a cruise but have a blast!!, and be sure to take tons of pictures!

Lucky!! My husband and I went on a cruise for our honeymoon in 2004...and we loved it!! We are prob. going this year in oct for our 2 year wedding anniversary...You guys will have soo much fun

I totally second the idea of a TCS cruise! What a great way to meet everyone.

I am still sooooo excited! I'm headed to the mall in search of a dress now...wish me luck! I'm so full of planning ideas and things. Like what kinds of pics I missed last time. There certainly won't be any bathingsuit pictures like Kathernine's though! Don't want to scare anyone! I'll deffinately check out that website tonight! Thanks for suggesting it!
