hi,
tabs just come back from the vets following an op on her paw and they've given her one of those cone shaped collars to stop her licking her stitches.
So far she just won't settle. She's walking around the house bumping into things and trying to shake it off. She managed to eat after i swapped her bowl for a plate but she won't lay down and rest. Any tips?

thanks rosie. Tabitha is wearing a similiar expression at the moment lol. Hers is around that size actually but her eyesite is pretty bad so she's having difficulty manouvering. I'm hoping she'll wear herself out shortly. And i'm not going to be able to resist taking a photo either.

And there's a thread for that pic, too - e-collar fashion!

Sadie found it hard to eat & drink with her collar on. Cutting it back like Sophie's helped. I would take it off and sit right beside her while she ate. When she was finished eating I would put it back on immediately so she would not bit her stitches.
I had to remove it for her meds. too.

Hang in there....Tabitha will be well enough to go without her collar before you know it.
Keep us posted about how she is doing and add her picture to the "e-collar fashion" thread if you can.

Remember...."this too shall pass."

I had the results back today from the vets. The lump they removed was an apocrine ductal carcinoma which i'd never heard of. The vet said its a cancerous tumor, however they are fairly certain they got it all out and it's not the type which produces secondaries. It may be that it will grow back in the future and we have to go through the same process again.
So it's not the best news but it could have been so much worse. And Tab is very happy now she doesn't have to wear her collar.

It sounds like you are on top of this problem and that Tabs will return to good health.
I know that neither of you want to see that darn cone even again.
Thanks for the positive update.
