You believe the staff room should be equipped with a Valium salt lick.
You find humor in other people's stupidity.
You want to slap the next person who says "Must be nice to work 8 to 3:20 and have summers free."
You believe chocolate is a food group.
You can tell if it's a full moon without ever looking outside.
You believe "Shallow gene pool" should have its own box in the report card.
You believe that unspeakable evils will befall you if anyone says "Boy, the kids sure are mellow today.
When out in public you feel the urge to snap your fingers at children you do not know and correct their behavior.
You have no life between August to June.
When you mention "Vegetables" you're not talking about a food group.
You think people should be required to get a government permit before being allowed to reproduce.
You wonder how some parents ever MANAGED to reproduce.
You believe in aerial spraying of Prozak.
You believe no one should be permitted to reproduce without having taught in an elementary setting for the last 10 years.
You've ever had your profession slammed by someone who would "Never DREAM" of doing your job.
You think caffeine should be available in intravenous form.
You know you are in for a major project when a parent says "I have a great idea I'd like to discuss. I think it would be such fun."
You want to choke a person when he or she says "Oh, you must have such FUN everyday. This must be like playtime for you."
Meeting a child's parent instantly answers the question "Why is this kid like this?"

Those are great! Unfortunately, the teaching thing just didn't work out for me. Those who have never done it just don't understand that the breaks are really for the teacher's sanity!

My friends admit they would love the summer and hate the rest of the year. They don't know how I manage. Some days, neither do I.

Then, kids you only saw a few times scream your name in the street, or run up to you at the mall, and you remember.

I am an English as a Second Language teacher, and I am so excited by the progress some of my students are making. It makes the frustration worth it.

Oh, it's a trip alright! Today, in Tampa's newspaper was a story about an 8 year old who took the car and drove to school to try and impress people!

Must be one tall 8-year-old!

But wait, I'm not a teacher, and I thought chocolate was a food group!

You mean it isn't?

Speaking of chocolate........try this sometime!

Between the Sheets Cake
I package German Chocolate cake mix
1 can sweetened evaporated milk
1 jar Mrs. Fields (or equivalent) Butterscotch topping (for ice cream)
1 Jar " " Chocolate Fudge topping
1 jar " " " " Caramal topping
1 container cool whip
4 heath bars smashed into bits

Preheat oven to 350 and mix up cake batter. Bake as directed, and while cake is still warm, pull it out of the oven. Take a long-handled wooden spoon and holding the spoon portion poke holes in the cake with the handle. Poke a lot of holes.

Pour one can sweetened evaporated milk over cake, then take a spatula and butter the spreading end. Pour one jar of icecream topping and spread it around the cake, then the other jar, and then the last jar. Top with cool whip, spread that around the cake and then sprinkle with smashed heath bars serve warm and expect there to be no leftovers!

Hissy, I think I gained 10 lbs just thinking about it

I'll have to try it sometime, when I have a big party, or for my co-workers. I don't want to have to eat the whole thing by myself.

As a high school teacher, I can relate to these statements!!! I especially wonder about the right to reproduce. When I see my students having babies (much too young, much too stupid), I just hope that I don't have to teach their children someday!!!
