Why is homework so much work(& so boring)!?!?

So...instead of doing my homework, I am here. I have 91 pages to read(there is very little to read on each page) for Friday, in addition to starting my online classes today. I am on page 2 of 91. I have been reading for 2 hours now. How can I resist being here when homework is so boring? The book I am reading is for Intro to Computers for crying out loud! I know how to use a mouse & a keyboard! I think I can navigate the internet without a book!

Why must homework be so boring? If I can't do the homework for the classes I actually attend, then how can I do my homework for the online classes? Boy, this could be a long semester!

I assume your talking about your ILCC classes, right? Are you enjoying it so far? I really miss everyone there - the advisors, profs and everyone!!

Into to Computers....thats a really fun class - the prof is a really sweet lady (I'm assuming she's the same lady)

What class do you have to read for? I miss college!!

You can come do my homework for me, then! I have Johnny Hurley for Intro to Comp. It is only her 2nd semester, though. I am reading for the intro to comp. Then I have to read for business law, but I don't actually have to do that until this weekend(maybe ). I absolutely love my management class with Joni, though. She is an awesome prof! I have classes 9-10 MWF & 10:30-12 MW. I have to drive from here to Estherville to hand in my homework on Fridays(that's half an hour one way for those of you who don't know). If I don't show up, I lose points for not coming.

Anybody else willing to volunteer to do my homework?

I read really really fast... I'll read all your stuff and give you a summary if you'll do my spanish!!

I can relate...last fall I took a continuing ed class about Computer Networks. I found the book utterly boring and totaly a waste of my energy.

The sick thing is - I do computers for a living!!!

I will say this, a lot of the computer authors out there are bad writers. Plus the information they give you is so dry (and don't ask WHY I'm in Computers...I'll never know).

Once you get into a subject you do like though, the class gets more interesting.

Good Luck!

I am in the same boat as you. Last night I officially got behind on my homework. But it was chemistry and I just can not figure out the math part of it I actually could not work any of the problems.

Wow - they got a new Intro to Comp teacher? I wonder where the other lady went, hmmmm. Isn't Joni great!? I thought she was really the best prof I ever had, and that management class is really fun too - all her classes are!!
Do you have to take Micro & Macro? Have fun with that!

I have to take both, but not right now. Joni suggested that I take one this summer & the next fall semester this year, or one fall the other spring '07. I'd rather not take them at all, though. I started my Businees Law book. I have to read to page 23. I have been reading for an hour & a half. I am on page 6. That wouldn't be so bad if the chapter didn't start on page 3! This is going to be a long semester!

kaleetha, ¡Te amo Español! I would rather do that than my homework!

I KNOW. I already have two tests next week, and one of them is in my 3 hours night class that I barely stay awake through.. I dont think I've absorbed that much information.. and hematology is not exactly thrilling.

I am just plain not smart enough to do chemistry. It is so confusing. To me, it is like jibberish. I was taking the "normal" chem class in HS, but at mid semester I had to drop back to the "lower" chem class because I was failing. I studied for hours for every test & still failed. Like I said, it's all jibberish to me!

Maybe this is a weird thought... but maybe we could set up a homework support network? For cases like math and papers (we could proofread) and *gulp* spanish.... If we figured out who was good at what... and then could help each other? Maybe this is a way crazy idea.

Anyway.... English and music are my strengths. I have an s/o who's good at math and physics.

I think it's a great idea! I am trying to do my online class work right now & since I am here(obviously) I am not getting much done. Business Law is so very boring. I have to make 3 posts by Friday & I haven't even erad anything yet! The posts are worth a ridiculously large amount of points, too!

I have to do math homerwork

Hmmmm, the last time I checked, I was a conservatory student, not a math major!

Man glad to see I'm not the only one swamped right at the start of a new semester. For my Wednesday night class "Techniques of Counseling" I had 144 pgs to read in my ethics text book & another 25 to read in my Skilled Helper book. Spend all day Satruday doing that reading because tonight I get to read somewhere around 32 pgs in my Statistics text book.

I sympathize with you. However... the musical language is based (somewhat) on math... no matter how hard we try to deny it!!!!

I hated my math class too.

So I went to Spanish 102, "Money and Folley in the Novel" and Canadian Literature today. I'm hoping Spanish will be okay. They switched the book on me. (I took Span 101 last year and dropped Span 102 because of some personal issues). Of course we already have homework and because of the new teaching method I have a bunch of other stuff to catch up on too. *sigh*

Here's my dilemma of the semester: Canadian Lit. He said we needed a couple of classes as pre-reqs (which weren't listed when registering *grr*) and has changed the book list at least four times already. He said I could stay with the class and if things started getting out of hand I could do some remedial reading (I offered to do that) but I'm worried. I don't want to spend a bunch of time struggling in this class and I already don't like the professor.

What would you guys do?
