My cats are largely boring, but when one misbehaves, and it's always the same one, it's a unique story. Tonight I came in the door from work and immediately heard an odd noise. It sounded like water in the kitchen. Over the summer I had the water line break under the bathroom sink while I was at work, and it was a H-U-G-E disaster. I thought the same thing happened in the kitchen.

Well, to my relief, no, but there was a cabinet open, a couple of things knocked on the floor, and the kitchen sink running water! Don't even ask me how he turned the sink on; I'll never know. I also wonder just how many gallons of water was wasted down the drain today. Guess I'll know when I get my water bill.

Sounds like my Oliver. When I lived in NY, we had round-handled faucet knobs that were very loose and easy to turn on. Oliver, my resident troublemaker, learned how to turn them himself so he could get his precious faucet water in the middle of the night while mommy slept. I would wake up at 3 AM to the sound of running water. Always amusing.

That's not going to be nice, but I bet he enjoyed the luxury of a non-stop drinking fountain all day.

I`m just now seeing this.....Our Toby can turn onthe faucets in our kitchen too
Larry cut 2 pieces of 2"x2" and cut a hole near the end of each one, just big enough to fit over each handle. The wood is long enough to drop down into the opposit side of the sink and this keeps the handles from being able to be turned. (Cheap cure for sure!)

Wow, another very smart kitty. What a boring life we would have without them. Maybe you'll have to child-proof your cabinet doors.
