I have to be gone overnight for the first time since i got my cat tomorrow.

Considering he has adjusted to living with me without any troubles at all (I think he is used to being an only cat, and didn't have a problem with the transition) I wouldnt think that he would be too stressed, but what can I do to make this easier?

Leaving out adequate food and water are at the top of the list, that's for sure :-D

I basically just want some reassurance than he can be left alone overnight, and he will be okay.

I would think that your kitty will be ok overnight. Scince you already know food and water are an important thing, I would only suggest lots and lots of love before you leave. Cats sometimes (I think) can know what's going on, and they feel the anger/harmony/surprised/anxious/etc...feelings comming off of you. Just love your kitty, and tell them what's going on, and that you'll have special love and treats for when you get back.

I would also buy a toy, and spray it with some catnip spray before you leave. A brand new toy, or blanket.

Good luck

I forgot to say, It will be ok. Dont worry about your kitty while away. Maybe leave a radio or TV quietly on...if you are that worried. But really, I think everything will be just fine.

Thanks for the support

I don't know why I'm so nervous about it. There isn't much that could happen to him.

He is my babycat though. I hope he isn't toooo annoyed with me tomorrow!

I've left them alone with extra food/water from Friday nite to Sunday nite - when you show cats - not everyone goes, so if you are staying overnite at shows, the ones at home are ok.

He survived

He sure was happy to see me, but didn't get into any trouble while I was gone. Still no improvement in his stomach issues though, so that looks like a new fun activity for this weekend.
