Introducing dog to 3 cats

Does anyone have any suggestions about introducing a dog to my three cats.
My oldest cat 7yrs old may FLIP his wig and never return mentally to us again. Should would not get a dog as long we have him? Or should we just work with it?

Is it best to go for a puppy?

Any suggestions on breeds that work well with cats :-) Or will they all learn from teeth and claws :-)

How big is your house/apt?
Breed does'nt matter at all IMO, it is how they are brought up (REALLY!)
A puppy might be the worst choice, as they are very hyper and playful.
I would suggest adopting a dog (older) from the shelter who came from a house with other pets, espescially cats. They will be more calm, and already used to kit-cats.
Don't forget each dog has thier own charecter/temperment. You might decide on a certain breed for their "attitude" or lack there of, and wind up with something totaly different.

I hope you find what you are looking for, keep us posted

I have a normal size 1 story home... 3 bedrooms... finished basement...

We want to wait until we move and get a bigger fenced yard.

I haven't talked my hubby into more cats :-) Yet.
