My mom cat is a new mom. Recently I was able to sell her babies off before they got to old and were not as adorable. Now she is mewing for the other ones. I was wondering if this is normal for new moms and how long it will usually last?

Yes, this is normal, especially if the kittens were younger than about 12 weeks. It's not separation anxiety, more that she wants to know where her babies are, so that she can look after them. Give her lots of cuddles and attention and she should begin to feel better in a few days.

I've just looked at your other posts and by the dates, the kittens are only about 7 1/2 weeks old now. This is really too young to be separated from their Mumcat. No wonder she is calling for them.

My math was a little off. for some reason I kept thinking sometime in October. Anyway, thanks for the advice and that is what I have been doing with mom and keeping her comforted. I still have one of four left so that is helping her out also.

Yes, this is normal if the kittens were not old enough. Also, she can get mastitis. If she is spayed very soon then she will not have the hormonal influences and will not miss her kittens as much and also will not get mastitis.
