Hi everyone, My name is Matt and I live with my g/f Julie. Between us we now have 7 cats and 2 dogs. the cats are - Fuzzy, Luke and Joe(brothers), Martha, Eleanor, Sofa, and Oliver. Oliver and Sofa are 12 and 14 years old, while all the other kitties are less than 5 years old. The dogs are Ellie (6 year old lab/chow mix) and Satchel (year old boxer/hound mix). Ellie has been with me since she was a year old and someone threw her out of a car on the road. Satchel is the latest addition to the family...a Katrina rescue dog and a great puppy! I look forward to sharing great stories and info with the posters to this board, and I hope that this will be a valued resource for any issues that might come up!

That's nice to hear that Satchel is a Katrina rescue, that is sooooooo great!! I'd love to see some pictures of your cats & dogs if you're able to post them.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. In answer to the "how sofa got her name" questions - This was Julie's cat from way before I knew her (sofa is about 12 years old). The story I heard was that she was the runt of the litter and all of her brothers and sisters would sit on her...hence the name sofa.
