Do you ever watch any of the UFC fights or any other kind of MMA?

My husband is a 4th level blackbelt in Korean Fighting-Style Tae Kwon Do and will be earning his Master's belt this upcoming year. He is very lucky to be studying under Master Sun Dong - Master Dong has his "headquarters" here in the Richmond area. My husband is also approaching master level in Sword Form.

I've got my 7th Gup rank in TaeKwon Do... ITF style though. I'm switching over to :censor::censor::censor: and I'll have to start all over again! It's not a problem though, I really enjoy training.

Thats exactly what I do, man he's higher than my instructor, he's 2nd degree going for his 3rd degree very soon. Have you had a look at the website?

I do GTF so there are quite a few differences between ITF and GTF, and also :censor::censor::censor:. Marks brother used to do ITF and got to his blue belt but gave up for a few years, he then decided to come to our GTF class with us and after discussions with our instructor and one grading, with the rest of the class to see how much he could remember, he was allowed to keep the grade that he had earned in ITF. If you switch over you should speak to your instructor to see if you can do this, save you starting again.

We watch UFC!!! awesome! esp when it's women fighting! Maybe that will be me one day....... *dreams*

I want to learn Krav Maga.. It's fantastic as a self defence, especially for females. There's not any local schools for it though :/

I've never heard of that one, sounds interesting though! We do a lot of self defense, I really enjoy it and it's great to know you are armed with it if anyone were to attack you. You will be smarter than them, whether they are stronger than you or not.

Krav Maga is the official Israeli Martial art, and even teaches you how to disarm someone with a gun, knife, or other weapon.

You just need to find out where your nearest class is, and decide what you want to practise. I recommend Tae Kwon Do but then I'm biased. I've never tried anything else so I can't compare but I know I really enjoy this and never thought I would. It's a great way to meet people with the same interests as you and everybody respects each other and everybody had to start at the bottom so nobody judges you. It's a great confidence booster.

Leah,

Pom has given great advice. Our fight school is like a brotherhood. Everybody is equal even if their not. The friends, support, everything is there. Joining a gym like that is a great experience. You should def. check it out. Most gyms offer different classes on different nights. Aerobics, boxing, kickboxing, cardio, pretty much anything. Do what works for you!
