Just finished Dean Koontz's new book One Door Away from Heaven, and what a read it was! I finished it in 3 days because I could NOT put it down. Now I am going to start Stephen King's newest book, supposedly he only is going to publish two more and then lay down his pen. But if you can, pick up Koontz's book it is GREAT!

Hissy, I am smack dab in the middle of that Dean Koontz book! It's really good now, but for some reason I had a hard time getting into it... the first 1/4 of it just did nothing for me... maybe because I was wondering where it was all leading, you know? Right now I'm at the part where Curtis hooks up with the twins in the motor home.
It IS getting much more interesting and I look forward to reading it every night before bed. I have to be careful or I stay up WAY too late reading it.

That's funny you mention King's new one... I've already bought it, and it's sitting on the book shelf waiting for me to get done with One Door Away From Heaven!

AP, if you haven't bought "2nd to Die" yet, don't... just watch your mail.
(Really, I already have it. It's not a problem!)

Well.... I'm not a big Patterson fan, but I get all his books anyway! It was very readable. If you're a fan, you'll like it!

Hissy....I am definatley going to look for that book you mentioned!! I read the one by him that you and a few others recommended to me, "Intensity" earlier, and I could NOT put it down! it was one of the best books I have read! I was so scared for her! And the ending caught me totally off guard (who he was) it was awesome!!!! Thanks!!
I wish they would make a movie out of it!!!!!!!

Even though I've only read one of his books, Dean Koontz is awesome! I can't remember the name of the book but it was about two young boys who are friends and one of them is a little mental insane and trys to get his friend to derail a train with him. It's been so long I don't remember much else about the book.

If you are just starting the Dean Koonts collection, I highly recommend "Lightning". It's been out for a few years, but it is really good. My favorite so far, and I have read most of his books.

I just finished reading Lightning last night
It was sooo good!

The twist near the end was incredible- when you find out where Stefan really comes from. I was reading along and when it got to that 'revealing' part I just sat there going 'Oh my God!!!' My hubby thought I was nuts

Its basically about a girl named Laura Shane whose life is saved many times throughout her growing up by a mysterious Guardian. The book progresses on to tell us who the Guardian really is and his purpose. I loved it!!

About Mr. Koontz, for those who love his work and don't know this, he also writes under the following names:

David Axton
Anthony NOrth
Brian Coffey
Richard Paige
Deanna Dwyer (yep a woman!)
Owen West
KR Dwer
Aaron Wolfe
John Hill
& Leigh Nichols

Debby that book krazy mentioned is about time travel, modern technology and what can do wrong when Man messes with what has already happened. I have so many favorite books of his, but Whispers and Intensity are the ones that stand out in my mind the most. I just re-read In the Corner of His Eye for the 5th time, and it still makes me cry. He is just one of those awesome writers that captures you up and won't let go until the final moment! I always find myself at the end of each book turning those last blank pages wanting more! LOL Plus her writes about my old stomping grounds and that is neat too.

Wow! I didn't know Koontz wrote under all those names! That's wonderful! I've got a whole new list of books to give my bookstore guy! Woohoo!

Hey, didn't they make a made for T.V. movie on the book Intensity already? I could have SWORN a few years back I watched it! Or am I just remembering something that didn't happen again???
