Hello.

My name is kiki and my husband and I have been involved in cat rescue for the past few years. We have 38 cats at this time, most of them are adoptable and one is going to a new home in a few days. We also care for FIV cats and hope to start a sanctuary for them some day, when we win the mega-bucks lottery.

We want to share ideas and information with other cat people to learn what's going on in the cat world and hope to meet more nice people along the way.

Whoa, that is a lot of cats!!!!! What a handful, and what a lot of work too. I'll bet it really pays off, though! When they get to go to their new homes & everything. Well, welcome to The Cat Site. Hope you have a great time here and find what you need to!

Thanks everybody!

People are so cool here.

The siamese was adopted yesterday, which brings us down to 37 kitties!
We drove to NJ (five hours each way) because we HAD to meet his new mommy. She is so perfect for him it almost brought us to tears.
We don't charge adoption fees so we suggested she hook us up with cat litter, and she did. That stuff is worth it's weight in gold.
Thank the gods for Petfinders, our cat adoptions are few and far between but when they happen the good feeling lasts a long time.
Funny thing is....the cat was rejected from it's first home in Maryland, we took him in and moved to West Virginia, now he lives in a beautiful home in New Jersey. His new mommy has always had siamese cats and said that he is probably a full breed, which didn't surprise us.
He's now exactly where he belongs.

I know you have a lot to do to take care of so many cats. I have always wished I could do something like that. My problem is, I would want to keep them all. Welcome to The Cat Site. You will meet some wonderful cat people here and some are very knowledgeable.

Wow thats a lot of kitties! who gets stuck with litterbox duty?? good for you for taking in FIV+ kitties, I was a sanctuary for FeLV+ kitties, I'm down to my last 2 and have decided my heart can't take it anymore, I know I'm going to be an absolute wreck when these last 2 go, especially my Simon- he's Siamese and I never thought that I would ever love a cat as much as I love him, this coming from a life-long cat lover!
