Hi. I decided to join today after reading through some of the helpful posts on this forum. It seems like a great place, not argumentative like so many other forums, which makes me tend to shy away from. Every post I've read seems so helpful.
Anyway, my name is Donna and I share my home with:
One hubby named Nick, who is the greatest!
A yellow Lab named Toby, adopted from the shelter at 11 months old, who is allergic to EVERYTHING!
An Akita/Shep/Dobie mix named Leah, adopted from a different shelter at 5 years old.
A big fat 18 1/2 lb calico cat named Whiskers, brought home from a pet store giving away free kittens with purchase of $10.00 worth of supplies (I was picking up cat litter anyway, and she was sooooo cute.....and soooo small!)
Another calico cat, named Mew (she talks a lot) who we took in as a 'foster' and she is now a permanent resident!
And a grey and white little cat named Cinder, who to make a really long story short, got trapped inside our cinder block wall as a 12 weeks old feral kitten, my husband chipped away at the wall for four hours and rescued him and we spent a month 'winning' him over with food and patience. He still doesn't come out with strangers (visiting family members have dubbed him the invisible cat) but he is the biggest mush with us and thats all that counts!
And thats about it.
