GOLDEN, CO - There were no people inside, but that didn't stop firefighters from entering a burning home to rescue a trapped cat.
The fire started Monday around 1 a.m. at 715 Arapahoe Street in Golden.
Smoke was pouring from the building when firefighters arrived, but crews had the fire under control in about 10 minutes.
While they were fighting the blaze, firefighters noticed a cat trapped inside and rescued it. The kitty was treated by paramedics at the scene and then turned over to the Golden Police Department's Animal Control Division.
Investigators say the fire started in the furnace area, but they have yet to determine the cause.
