So i like NASCAR and Preseason Thunder starts soon on the Speed channel, but i dont have cable.
SO i have to wait until they start showing races on tv.
But i can get my racing fix around here. My boyfriend races go-karts and this weekend we went to Dexter Ga for a race. it was really cold but fun. Except there are some no driving people there! LOL

I want to hear from you race fans and do you or a close friend family member race anything? Oh yeah and who is your favorite driver?

Tony Stewart Fan! But we have wars at my house. i am a lone fan. he likes Ryan Newman and Kurt Busch!

Jamie McMurray is my boy!!!!

I will also have to like Casey Mears this year since he'll be driving the Texaco car. I have always loved the Texaco car no matter who is in it.

GO JAMIE AND CASEY!!!

I'll tell you...I dated this mechanic for a few months back in the day and he nd his roommate would just sit there for hours watching Speed TV or whatever.... that stuff is hypnotizing! Round and round and round.....getting sleepy?

Another NASCAR fan here! Tony Stewart is my favorite driver, so I was a happy girl with the Championship last season.
Can you believe that Daytona is just over a month away?

WHOA! A NASCAR fan that has to do without Speed Channel? I think you should write your congressman! LOL

I am big fan as well, I like all of the Ford drivers. As far as Speed Channel goes, they should make it a seasonal channel. This time of year its about as interesting as watching the cat poop. Id rather see it be a home improvement channel December thru February

And the Barrett-Jackson Auction is coming up soon too!
We got hooked watching the start to finish coverage of that last year. Now that's on the Must Do list "when we win the lottery", according to my husband.

I have to say, with the announcement of the new channel lineups for the races this year it's going to be tough to watch without cable/satellite. Beginning and end will be on Fox and ABC, but the whole middle of the season will be on ESPN and TNT.

That's one of the best things about NASCAR: the off season is very short!!

I can't wait for Daytona! The Pre-Season races are fun, but let us count POINTS people!!! *grin*

I like Elliott Sadler and the #38 M&M's Ford Taurus, soon to be Fusion. And for those "in the know" about past seasons, it just isn't Talladega for me unless Elliott goes across the start/finish line on the roof.

I use to be interested in NASCAR. I loved watching Dale Earnhart 'slice' thru the competition
. His death made me cry and it hasn't been the same since. Now throw in espn and take out Winston and the 'mix' is near nauseous to me.

Here is my 1991 Camaro that was setup for racing on road courses. If you look carefully, you can see some of the six-point rollcage and the window net. Note the extra-wide , light-in-weight wheels and the BFG R1's on them. That's a road course known as Roebling Road and it's near Savannah, GA. Here's frontal shot of it just waiting to hit the 2.5 mile track at Road Atlanta. 'We' surprised a few "real" sports car
from time-to-time.

I used to be a huge fan, but since Dale Earnhardt died, it has taken some of the fun out of it. I don't like all the nit picky new rules and the tracks that are all the same. It was a lot more fun when they just got on the track, ran the race, and sorted out the problems with a brawl in the pits afterward. The first race that was televised ended with Richard Petty jumping out of his car and smacking another driver, and Mrs. Petty fending off others with her huge purse.

I know what you guys mean about Dale. He was my favorite, and then after he passed, Kenny Irwin was my favorite, and he was killed too.

So hopefully nothing will ever happen to McMurray or Mears.

When I was younger, we lived with my Grandparents and my Grandpa is a big racing fan - so I have grown up watching it as well. I remember sitting with him watching racing on Sunday's in my little pink dresses (My mom insisted on always dresing me in pink and frilly things
), telling him "Grandpa-I wanna be on a pit crew"
He used to just laugh at me all the time and told me that I could if I wanted to,...yeah right!

What do you think about the female drivers that are starting to make names for themselves (Danica Patrick etc)
