I normally add red kidney beans when I make chili. I made a big pot of chili on Friday and did not add the beans. I was giving some of the chili to a friend who has a medical condition that doesn't allow beans in his diet. This started a big debate around my house about if chili is better with or without beans.

I normally prefer beans in my chili. How do you prefer your chili?

With Beans!!!

beans are great. Actually, I used to not like them... until one day I was hiking all day and when we stopped for the night, we had some mexican rice with beans (one of those freezed dried camping meals) and after walking all day and being kind of cold, this was the best meal I ever had! Even if it had beans in it. After that, I always liked beans.
It's a good thing too since I barely eat any meat anymore.

With beans, no meat ("chili sin carne"). I also hated beans as a kid, now I love them.

I like it without but make it with as BF prefers them..I just put less in.
I like red beans and rice (N'awlins style) but don't like them in Chili for some reason. Though I do put zucchini in my chili too which some people don't like, but I LOVE.. Think it may be chili for dinner tonight

I love all other beans though as well, as well as lentils and other legumes (lentil, tuna, garlic, lemon and dill all mixed together is a great lunch

YES! I'm so glad to know I'm not the only one making vegetarian chili!

When I make Chili, I use the dried pinto beans. I soak the beans then cook them till tender. Then I place all the ingredients in the crock pot and cook for 2-4 hrs. Very yummy!!!

I like beans in mine....but my hubby LOVES them! LOTS OF THEM...so I load it up and then give hime some out of mine.
We like hamburger and sausage in it and also green peppers (and a few hot ones too) and REAL onion....about a Tablespoon of bacon grease, a Tablespoon of brown sugar, tomato sauce and tomato juice, a few dashes of sot sauce and losts of spices. At the very end, just before serving I add a pkt or 2 of cheese taken out of mac and cheese boxes and several slices of Velvetta cheese. YUMMMMMMY!
