Yea, she was no good. She was a disgrace to anybody anywhere. She DID step way over the line. I agree with you totally. They should have picked some other person to do that peice of the segment with. Because All of the others (william hung, that one crazy chick,etc..) they were ok and kind of funny to watch. She was just humiliating to society.

I did enjoy the fact that it seemed like last night they showed more of the good/talented singers instead of just the lousy/lame ones. I really liked the stories of the gal from 42 foster/group homes and the girl that lived with her grandfather. Oh - and the girl with the famous grandmother.

That lady was crazy! I don't know why they had to glorify her for the WHOLE two hours. She kept going on about Paula and I felt Paula really didn't say anything to her.

All I can say is she got her two minutes of fame but I thought she was disgraceful.

I will admit to this I really liked the different car horns they used at the end but they should have used it for every single word she said, not just every other word.

I predict that the girl who was the Granddaughter of the lead singer from Sounds of Blackness, and sang Take Five, using Billy Holiday's blues style ...will win American Idol. She was incredible.

You know, I missed that part I think. Because I had to some laundry, and when I came back, DH was like, you MISSED the girl that's going to win american idol. I WISH WISH i would have seen her. There's gotta be a clip of her somewhere on the internet.

Seriously, that girl gave me goosebumps...I was enthralled with her second song, she is amazing!!!

She was amazing, thats for sure! I loved her outfit - and her skirt for sure, so cute! Wasn't she only 17? Wow, to sing like that at such a young age - brilliant!

I really liked the blonde girl who Simon really liked - I hope she goes far as well!

I had to laugh at the lady who was in there & she said she had won numerous karaoke contests and the guys always are asking her on dates - oh wow, she wasn't very good! I just had to laugh at the way she was dancing too

I felt those goosebumps too!! She was unbelievable!!!! It was true what Simon said about being glad her speaking voice was so different than her singing voice.

There were some good ones alright! I actually liked the one Simon said looked like a mother trying to be Cher...she reminded me of Janis Joplin or someone like that. I mean, she could have changed her image if they would have given her a chance...it's mostly about singing, not image totally....

When do they start the actual competition?

I always watch Pop Idol etc here because the first auditions make me howl but I haven't watched American Idol at all. Until... I was in Dublin at the weekend and it was always on the TV in our hotel room when we were in and I actually thought Simon was a lot more polite than he is on pop idol in the UK! Also there were some crackers on there.
