Oh I am so happy to see this news! Sheesh, I feel like it is OK to breathe again! *grin*

I am so glad this went well for both of you. I know it must have been an absolutely gut-wrenching decision-making process and I just have to say that I think you were very, very brave.

Very gut-wrenching indeed. She's so miserable right now too
I just brought her home and she's hissing at the other kitties and hiding. I guess it's to be expected. When I first got her she was an abused kitten and really really mean. It took a good 6 months to get her to trust us and I feel like I lost some major ground with her. We'll see though, I can't rush to conclusions, it's only been a few hours :-/

place a drop or two of vanilla under all the kitties noses , Mama smells like the vets office and her buddies smell like intruders..

I am thrilled that she made it though OK.
Give her time...she will come back around.

You are an excellent kitty Mama.

I just saw this...I am so glad she came through just fine. She's not going to miss those heat cycles (and neither will you!).

Oh boy it was horrible... She went into heat before her surgury but the vet said they would spay her anyway. So when I brought her home she still was acting like she was in heat a little, which meant she was rolling around... not very effective for healing wounds! She's calmed down now luckily

I'm new to this site and I just read this thread. I'm so glad to hear the good news and it was good to hear about this and of the other stories that people posted because my new kitty has a stage 3 murmur and I was concerned about neutering. All these positive stories make me very hopeful.

Aww, am so glad to hear that she is well. And to stop all those pesky heats - good for both of you I would imagine.
