My baby moved out yesterday

My daughter is in her second year of college, so she's been out for over a year, except for spring, summer, and Christmas breaks. My son just graduated last June - we kinda though he would live at home for a while longer while he was working and going to school so he could save up money.

Anyway, I guess he wants his independence - so he and a buddy rented an apartment and he moved out this weekend. I am sad to see him gone

He doesn't live that far away (only about 15 min), so it's not like I won't ever see him again LOL. My husband already gave him the "you better come around to visit" speech last night. Plus, I'm excited to turn his room into a guest room, but still - it's hard not having any kids in the house anymore.

That must be such a hard time for you!. It's good that he didn't move too far away. You can at least see eachother often.

I can't relate to that - but I think you will get over it, at least a tiny bit. They aren't gone forever!

Yeah, it's weird. It wasn't hard one bit when my daughter moved off to college, and I didn't think it would be this hard when he moved out - it is mainly because it was so unexpected and happened so fast. I really thought he would have stayed another year.

I just need to get myself busy with my new guest room!
I have an antique bed frame that belonged to my grandparents that I have been wanting to use, but had no room, so it's been in storage - can't wait to get that up.

Aw,
but don't get too comfy with the new guest room, they might be back! I went back home three times after I moved out. And out. And out...

hehe I know. I hope, we talked about that too. My husband is one of five, and he's the only one that hasn't moved back home at one time or another.

Wow, my mom was more than happy to get my brother and I out of the house!

But things will get better and you'll appreciate the peace!

At the kitty's beck and call
I know what you're feeling - our youngest went away to University this year too. Doesn't the house seem quiet?

But I agree with Kbak - I miss our little one when she's away and love it when she's home. But the "us" time that we get when the nest is empty is nice too. This is your time to do the things that you want to do and find great new things to pass the time. Renovating that antique bedstead sounds like a great idea - it can go into your new guest room

Hugs to you
