This is probably a really silly question...

I know one sign of a healthy dog is that it has a cold wet nose. Does this apply to cats too?

Merlin's nose is always wet, Freya's always seems to be dry.

Both are perfectly healthy but I was just wondering. (Sorry, this silly question came out of a discussion with someone at work and I honestly don't know the answer)

Well one minute her nose is wet and the next it's dry. But she just werid like her human companion. Has your cat ever "Snob wipped" you?

"Snob wipping"= When a cat head butts your hand or another part off your body, using its drool and snot as it head butts you.

It feels werid when my Creepy does it, but I just think, it her way of showing me that she loves me.

My cats' noses are pretty dry, except for Milla, she smudges our windows in a day.

Hannah's nose is usually wet and Callie's nose is usually dry.

Lol that's exactly what Baby Girl does! When she was a kitten she did it excessivly but now just when she feels really loving

It's funny - sometimes my girls noses are wet and sometimes they're dry. Sparkles nose changes color. Sometimes it's very pink and moist and sometimes it's nearly white and dry. I wonder if I should be concerned about that ?

my 4 yr old Tuxedo cat,Prince's nose is wet most of the time. When he is in an affectinate mood, which doesn't take much,if i hold him,and pet him,he rubs his face on mine and rubs me with his lips, like he is kissing me!! It is soo adorable! He has done this to me ever since he was three or 4 months old,and is the only cat i have ever seen do this!

I believe I remember my vet telling me at one point that the cold, wet dog nose thing is somewhat of an old wives tale... I know with both the dog and Oliver they have their wet nose times and dry nose times and it does not seem to correspond in any way whatsoever to either's health... they're both sure good at snottin' up the windows though! Basically, I'm never concerned when they've got dry noses and wouldn't really ever take that as a definite sign of illness or them being out of sorts, definitely rely on more concrete symptoms...
