Just had a lovely visit from Naya and Oscar.

Oscar is doing so well. He's still eating (although not drinking yet) and put up with me syringe-feeding him some kitten food and some water this evening. He is really trying to stand and walk and for the first time, is showing some interest in toys. He liked a feather I had so he's gone home with that. His back legs are quite strong and he's taking a few 'steps' by knuckling on his front knees and wrists before he topples over. His eyes are bright and he's in pretty good spirits and loves to purr!

Glad to hear this little fighter is doing better. Youth is a wonderful thing & hopefully it, along with a wonderful care giver, will pull him through. Sending lots of hugs & purrs to this little guy & praying for a full recovery.

They take a few minutes to load.
I looked at the feeding one, he is SOOOOOO adorable!!!!! I am still waiting on the other one to load. Give them a minute-the first froze me up because I was too impatient, and tried to hit the stop button-everything froze-dummy, impatient me LOL.

I just saw the one of him walking
how adorable!!!
I teared up towards the end when he mewed at the camera, precious.

How would you say he progressed since you've had him? Was he able to walk at all before? Or was he mostly paralized?

He looks full of love that's for sure. Do you plan on keeping him, or fostering him out?

Sorry for all the Q's, I am stuck on him

Well, I'll try and answer for Naya, as she's the one taking care of him.

When Naya first got Oscar, he was almost completely paralysed (only his eyes would move as he watched you move around the room). He lay in the position that you see him in, in the very first picture. He could not even turn himself over, he was flea infested, couldn't eat or drink, his coat was a mess, he was severely dehydrated and euthanasia was a real possibility.

Now, he can crawl, moves around in his box, is flea-free, can lick kitten food from Naya's finger, takes his formula by being syringe-fed, his coat is improving, he is well hydrated, he knows when he's going to urinate or move his bowels and tries to get into a sitting position and we're pretty sure he's going to make it. We're expecting that he will still improve, even if it's slowly.

Both Naya and I have lots of cats and are really at our cat limit, so when he is better, Oscar will go to a loving home as a special needs kitten.

He is so adorable & what a strong little guy to make it this far. Did the vet give any kind of idea to how far his recovery will come? I'm sure there will be no problem in finding this special little guy a home.

He said it was just a matter of 'wait and see'. He saw Oscar yesterday and was very pleased with his progress.
