That is really cool Danielle! It reminds of of Hopewell Rocks in New Brunswick, Canada. When the tide is high, they look like little islands, then when the tide is low, you can walk on the ocean floor.

As far as this area, how long can you stay?

It really depends on what you would like to see. We have a little something for everyone. We have many stores and factory outlets, LOTS of history, the mansions and beaches of Newport, RI, Cape Cod, Boston, fantastic restaurants, Plymouth and the Mayflower. There are two casinos within an hours drive also. I could go on and on.

We'd go to the zoo and the park which are literally, within sight of where I live.

We'd go downtown, obviously. Walk the Mag Mile.

I'd show you Millennium Park. If you come during the winter, we could go ice skating right out on Michigan Avenue.

We could go to the Museums...especially the Field Museum.

I'd take you up to Andersonville to go to my favorite hang out spots...

I don't know. There's just so much to see and do here!
Dang! I forgot you lived around here! I live in Andersonville/Edgewater.

Hmmm...so many wonderful things to see, in places I'd love to visit.

If you come to Vancouver, I have lots to show you here too. I think we'd take a drive up the coast, on the Sea to Sky highway -- in many places it's cut out of the side of the mountains -- to one side, is the rock face feet from the road; to the other is a similar drop down to the water of Howe Sound...

On the way, we'd stop at Shannon Falls...

and we'd probably not go farther than Alice Lake...

...so that we could spend a little time at each stop.

Back in Vancouver, there are many gardens and green spaces that I'd want to show you, among them the Dr SunYat Sen Classical Chinese Garden...

...Queen Elizabeth Park, Van Dusen Botantical Garden, Nitobe Japanese Garden...

...and no visit to Vancouver would be complete without some time meandering around one of my most favourite haunts, Granville Island...

...after which we're going to have one heck of time deciding which of the wonderful restaurants Vancouver has to offer to pig out at. Tell me your culinary weakness and we'll go there -- how's that?

Come to Vancouver! And if we have time, we'll work in a trip to Vancouver Island, too. The ferry ride through the Gulf Islands is a treat in itself...

If it were summer I`d give them a tour of my flower gardens and little fish ponds and then have a cup of "whatever" in the gazebo. Then we`d go about 20 minutes away into Indiana to the HUGE Shipshewana Flea Market...and shop til we drop. Then go about 10 minutes from there to Middlebury and eat family style at the Dutch Essenhaus . (Amish cooking at it`s best!)

Loving my beautiful baby girl
Very first on the agenda is to meet my precious baby girls!
We will then proceed outside for you to meet my feral colony, 8-12 of them are up around the porch at any given time.

Next, we'll go over the sand dune across from our home to enjoy relaxing on the beach!

Well, if you come to visit me, you might regret it.

See, I live in the South Island of New Zealand. There is so much to see and do.

First, I would take you for the day to Akaroa:
http://www.akaroa.com/
Where I will take you swimming with the dolphins.

Then we will go to Hanmer Springs, where we can relax in the hot pools and maybe go horseback riding:
http://www.hanmer.com/

Then off to Nelson where it is lovely and warm:
http://www.nelsonnz.com/

And take the lovely, scenic drive down the west coast where you will see Punakaiki, which is Maori for Pancake Rocks. It is a natural thingy.
http://www.punakaiki.co.nz/

And we will visit the glaciers:

And then down to Queenstown:
http://www.queenstown-nz.co.nz/

And up to Dunedin:

And then back to Christchurch where you will see how lovely it is!

Regret it yet?

It it was right now and being in Southern California, I would first take them up to the mountains for a day of skiing, then have dinner at a nice resturant on the beach in Malibu. Then the next day? Disneyland! No Lines this time of the year.

Oh yeah, I'd forgotten about that. I actually hate it there, and I live here! Too touristy, like you said. I'd rather be up in the Northwoods camping on a lake!

Wow I am SO coming to visit all of you!!!

Dan you're right about the No-Longer-12 Apostles. I went down to Torquay a few visits to Melbourne ago (ooooh The Great Ocean Road - carsick!!
) and they were just breathtaking. Gorgeous. It is such wild country down there, fantastic.

I would, as earlier mentioned, take a visitor on the tree-top walk in Kings Park (provided they were less afraid of heights than me...lol) and I would also take them to one of our many spectacular beaches. I would have to take them to a Sunday Session at one of the beachside pubs, and also down to Point Walter for a beautiful riverside walk and a gawk at all the eye-popping waterfront houses down there.

Here is a view of Perth city from Kings Park...but it doesn't do justice to actually being there

And then I would take them down to Eagle Bay and Dunsborough, and on a winery tour through Margaret River and Yallingup. Heaven!

Hmmm.....Lets see...

1. Longwood Gardens,
2. Drive down Route 12, for the most part it is surrounded by wetlands and is just so beautiful!
3. From there head to the beach to eat at a variety of fabulous seafood restaurants!
4. Then shopping at the outlets of course!

We could also drive a little farther south were you can see both Ocean and wetlands around the road. There are towers built in WWII you can see among the sand dunes and beach grass. There should be lots to do in Ocean City too. Below there are a few islands with wild horses and things. DC and Baltimore are pretty close too!

Deception Pass is one of my favorites around here. Big lovely park, lots to see and do.
Or, we could go to Seattle and take in the view from the Space Needle, and have some fun at Pike Place Market. You could spend several days in Seattle and not run out of things to see. And if you go hungry, it's your fault!

lol Am I the only one that lives in a relatively podunk town? The only real thing to see here is the university - Texas A&M, which is fairly large (third in the nation) and decently well-known. We have our own vet school (in the top five of the nation) you could always see that!

Other than that...we'd have to drive to Houston or Dallas to see anything. But I could always bring you to my parents' new lakehouse where we could go fishing, or just listen and look at the water! They have a beautiful view! And of course, there's always the Birman boys...
