Max and I just got home from walking the doggies in King's Park, and while I was there I thought of my friends here and how I would so love to show them King's Park and the stunning view of Perth from the War Memorial. It is truly breathtaking and whilst I haven't been to many places in the world, I would have to say that that view would be one hard one to beat.

If one of your fellow TCS-ers were to visit you, what would you love to show them in your town?

The view looking down into the valley at Boulder at sunrise, from half a mile down our driveway. The glow of the rising sun just appearing on the far horizon, and all the lights of town sparkling as it wakes from slumber.

I would take them out in the summer here to one of our many lakes canoeing. It's so beautiful out there. Just watching all the otters and beavers and listening to the loons, also blueberry picking...where you get to see the black bears doing the same thing!

The Puyallup river lined with bald eagles. Fortunately that's all there is this time of year. It's so cloudy and rainy, you cant see anything else.

I would take you to the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, to see the animals indigenous to the area.

A visit to Mission San Xavier del Bac combines the Spanish and Native American history of Tucson. I would also take you to the Arizona Historical Society Museum and the Arizona State Museum, on the University of Arizona campus.

No trip to Tucson is complete without sampling some REAL Mexican food, so Molina's is a must. A Saturday-night dinner of mesquite-broiled steaks, at Pinnacle Peak, will be capped off with a night of boot-scootin' at the Maverick.

That was what I was going to say too.
In wisconsin, especially scince Im close to milwaukee, you just gotta drink. It's like a rule or something, and the miller brewery would be the first start.

I'd say around the time of summerfest, would be a great time for other people to visit wisconsin. LOTS of stuff going on, and it's lots of fun. Most of all, I would just take you all out for some fun.

On the west side of... of... somewhere.
If someone were to visit me while I'm still here in Chicago, I'd hope they come in early June. I live in the Printer's Row neighborhood of Chicago, an up-n-coming area with lots of buildings going up. Well, the second weekend of June we have a seriously heavenly book fair... right outside my front door (well out the front door of my building). From paperbacks to 16th century tomes... and authors doing panels and signing books to boot! I've met Andrew Greeley (funny priest), and Chuck Palahniuk (funny and very warped). Julie Andrews was here that same year, but I didn't want to be surrounded by screaming toddlers, so I passed.

If they visited another time of year... I'd take them shopping. Depending on their tastes. I, personally, love perusing the shops on Belmont... The two friends who've visited me here (non-TCS'ers) have been ceremoniously dragged to IKEA, since neither of them had been. I've gotten them both hooked. I love historic architecture, so if they're willing, I'd just take them around downtown to walk. Also out to Oak Park to tour the Hemmingway house and visit the Frank Lloyd Wright houses.

Then again, in a year from now, I may be living in a completely different area of the country... so I'd have to change my answer then.

If someone came to visit me I'd rather show them around my hometown or Ormond Beach than where I live now, Orlando. It's only an hours drive though so it wouldn't be a problem.

In Ormond Beach I would show any visitors the Casements, John D. Rockefeller's beach home. It's the home he actually died in. It's now a community center and they offer tours. We would take a drive around "the loop" a beautiful, canopied drive that includes marshes and is just a beautiful protected piece of old Florida. Of course we would head down to the beach. Most of Ormond Beach does not allow beach driving, and the beaches in Ormond are also where the first time trials were held for racing. It's beautiful down there.

And then of course we could head over to Orlando and either partake in any number of water sports (since Orlando has an insane number of lakes) or head to one of the many theme parks. Islands of Adventure would be my first choice.

Someone come visit! I'd love it!

LMBO, spoken like a true wisconsinite!

I would show them around Michigan State's campus. I'm not sure what else up here there is to show but the campus is amazingly beautiful year round. It's an argicultural school so when spring comes it really is something else and in the winter it don't look to shabby either

Well hopefully I would have a summer visitor when my gardens could be shown. I would stop at Green Bay Botanical Garden too. Then so many people want to see Lambeau Field-we could have lunch at Curley's Pub!! Then onto my SIL's for a small tour of their dairy farm (and her garden) We could take a side trip back so Green Bay could be seen (not many stopping points). Or Fox River Mall shopping too!!(they also have a brewpub)

I would take them to see the lovely archipelago. If they were sporty, we'd make a bike tour, 3 days from island to island, crossings by ferrys. We'd swim in the sea and stay up all night by the camp fire. For history enthusiasts I would show my skills as a tour guide in our medieval castle and take them timetravelling to our 19th century poor people's neightbourhood outdoor museum.

If they stayed longer, I'd probably take them to our family's holiday cabin in the lake district, about 300 miles from here.

OK, when does the world tour start?!?! I wanna visit all of you!! But I think the only one feasible at this time is Sue...

First I would have to take them to Red Rocks Amphatheater, if they are any kind of a music fan. So many live albums and videos have been recorded there because of the amazing natural acoustics. From there we would have to head to the hills and the itinerary would depend on their interests. The outlet malls in Silverthorne are fabulous, Leadville is beautiful as well as the highest incorporated city (town) in the US at over 11,000 feet, if literature is your thing then we would have to head over to Estes Park to The Stanley Hotel where Stephen King wrote The Shining (and the TV miniseries was filmed a few years back), and for wildlife enthusiasts/hikers the Rocky Mountain National Park is a must see.

Oh goodness. There's so much! I'd want to show you the Treehouse Animal Foundation and, depending on when you stop by, the brand new PAWS Chicago Adoption Center...there are probably two of the more progressive and innovative no-kills in the country.

We'd go to the zoo and the park which are literally, within sight of where I live.

We'd go downtown, obviously. Walk the Mag Mile.

I'd show you Millennium Park. If you come during the winter, we could go ice skating right out on Michigan Avenue.

We could go to the Museums...especially the Field Museum.

I'd take you up to Andersonville to go to my favorite hang out spots...

I don't know. There's just so much to see and do here!

I've been to the Wisconsin Dells and enjoyed that. Kind of cheesy and tourist-y but, what's a vacation for?

First, I'd show off my cat Jeremiah. Then I'd take you to the Kentucky Horse Park, which so wonderfully captures the essence of Kentucky. Then (especially in springtime) take any of the backcountry roads to see the rolling hills with mares and foals grazing and playing.

oh my, I have wanted to visit Finland forever. I love everything about your country. I've wanted to sit in one of those outdoor thermal spas, too. Maybe some day I will.

Here, there's lots to show. But one of my favorite things are the wild peacocks that live in the hills here:
