How many of you have ever wished you could see what your pets were doing when you weren't home? Every wondered how Fluffy was spending her time while you are slaving away to bring home the kibble??

Some friends and i were having this conversation over lunch the other day. I saw a news show on people spying on their nannies/babysitters from work. I though I wish there was some way I could spy on my kitties when i'm at work, but mostly i wish i could do it when i was away on business and I had someone else coming in to take care of them. One of my friends wished she could see which one of her monsters was causing the destruction while she was gone.

So what about you guys? How many of you wish you could spy on your furmonsters when you are away (whether out of curiousity or to make sure they are taken care of) ?

Yes, of course! I want to make sure they are safe, happy, and NOT getting into any trouble! Nothing in specific has been worrying me though, really. But it would be fun to see what they do while we're gone!
Not that it might be anything too interesting most of the time- I think all my cats really do while I'm gone is sleep.

I see the results of Reilly's mischief when I get home. It would be interesting to see exactly how he does it!

That's so true...you find everything moved around and the kitties are just lying there looking innocent like "gee mom...i didn't knock the plant over and then dig all the dirt out onto the carpet..."

I left Reilly by himself once overnight and he let me know he wasn't happy. Here is a list of the damage from 1 night

-ripped the curtains and blinds off the window
- got into a bag of swedish berries..chewed them (didn't eat them) and I had to cut about 20 of them out of the carpet
- took 2 rolls of TP and shredded them on the bed
- Dug in my plants
- and knocked anything and everything that wasn't glued down off of all the tables and stands!

I wish I had a survillance camera then...there was so much destruction I thought I'd been broken into!

Now when we go away for the evening he has a kittysitter!

Oh my gosh Riley! What a naughty boy you were!

I deffinately would like to spy on my girls! My mother and I lived in an attic appartment once. Our neighbors below told us they could hear our cats playing all the time.

MissMew - That's hilarious! I can't believe such a beautiful boy could be sooo destructive. Bet you forgave him instantly when he turned those lovely big eyes on you and meowed innocently.

I'm often in other people's homes looking after their pets, and when I'm there, I always act as those they've got a secret video - just in case! Not that I'd do anything wrong anyway, but I guess I just feel self-conscious in someone else's home.

I'd also love to see what my babies do when I'm not here. But I suspect they spend most of their time staring out the window and sleeping!

Anytime I go anywhere, I wonder what the house will look like when I return. Like today, I went out to put fuel in my car. I was gone for about 15 minutes. When I came home, my computer chair was tipped over and the stuffing was all over the place. We had a very rambunctious cougar while we were away

Have you considered setting up a camera on your computer? There are child care centres and even schools starting to use cameras in the rooms so mums and dads can log in and see what is happening. I am sure you could find out what to do pretty easily!!

That's a great idea!

anyone else have any stories? Don't tell me that there are only a few of us who ever thought about spying on our kitties while we were at work....

I would love to know what my kitties do. Since I leave them in the computer room overnight with their toys, I'm sure they play and sleep. I just recently saw some footprints on the top of my computer monitor this morning, which means two things:

1. Cats get on the computer desk and climb all over.

2. I really need to dust in there.

That's hilarious!

I was just sitting at work the other day having one of those bang your head on the desk days...and i wondered what the kitties were up to. I don't know if it would make me feel better or worse to see them all comfy and sleeping at home while i'm slaving away....

I would love it, plus have microphone set up at work, and speakers at home. Then when Luna gets up on the counter and I SEE It I can yell "LUNA NO!" into the Mic.

I wonder what she would do.
