The rollercoaster describes our Pru's behaviour. She checked clear for worms a month after her dewormer med, so she now has the run of the house. She still likes to hide, either under the sofa now or behind the futon. She has been sighted on the cat tree and on top of the piano behind a large plant. Tabby's camouflage is amazing.
Some days, she is so loving and sweet and the next day you would think she had never seen us before.
Overall, it is good. She is a major lovebug, she loves rolling on her back and stretching out as I pet her, purring. Other times she sits with all legs in tight and she is not going to relax.
She is coming out at night downstairs and playing with the other cats' toys. She gets quite loud, I'm not sure how to describe the sound, it's not a meow though, more of a trill/cry. We get woken up about 3 times a night.

She is exploring her new environment and the other cats will hiss if she get too close. It's interesting, she totally ignores them and hissing doesn't make her detour or move away from them, she will just slow down and continue on her chosen path. Pretty brave for a 6 pounder vs two 12 pounders.
So our little stray is finding her place in our lives/house, I am so glad we brought her in, we just love her so much. The two other cats are reserving judgement until later, they're a harder sell than us softies..

It sounds like she's getting there!
Good for her for being so brave, and good for you for being so patient!

Thanks everyone, Pru is doing great, she's out in the open more--beside the futon, not behind it. That doesn't sound like much, but at least we see her easily now. She doesn't go near the doors, she is afraid of movement.
I've been thinking of putting on a cat enclosure to the outside of the house because of her though. I think if she got outside, she would run off and never look back. There is a pretty wild streak to her yet. Her first reaction is to run first and ask questions later. She just needs more time to find out how much she is loved.

What great progress! My Festie was born here, and is totally totally tame. She doesn't ever really run from us, but sometimes even she doesn't want to be petted, and will shy away from our hands. I think Pru is doing wonderfully. And time and your patience will do the rest. Congrats!
