Internet safety sticky?

Just wondered wether maybe there should be a sticky somewhere about basic Internet safety. Especially for our younger members. Saying about not telling personal details etc. Just an idea

I review all member profiles upon registration and edit out any information that is too revealing, especially on minors. The moderating team also keeps a pretty close eye on the boards for the sake of member safety. If you ever see anything you are concerned about, click the Report Post icon and state your concerns.

Just thought it would be good to have a general Internet safety post. For the stuff that isnt obvious on the board thought it may be helpful to some members

Hmm, I agree, that may be a good idea. Just a thought, I know there probably are some reasons that there isn't a sticky like that.

Stickies pretty much get ignored and we are trying to cut down on the amount of them. As Deb said, we have a pretty good community watch in effect right now.

Mary Anne is right. You would not believe how often we answer questions or refer members to answers in threads that are stickied. People tend to read only current threads that have new replies.

For me it's essential, since we breed Persian and Exotic kittens!

My information is out there through the cat fancy etc, no one can stop that here.

I dream of a fourm without stickies just like Billy the Kid supposedly dreamed of a world without guns. Even though almost nobody reads them on their own accord, we keep stickies because they are very easy to point to or copy and paste in a pm when helping a member.
