Yippee!!

Tom went for his weigh in on Thurs, and now weighs 7.80 kg. When he had his first weigh in in August, he weighed 8.96kg, so he has lost 1.16kg in 5 months and 4 days - this is despite having to change his diet 3 times, and despite the fact he is a scavenger living in multi cat household, who would prefer to eat dry food than his wet food!! I am very pleased, the vet nurse said we could start looking for a home now that his weight isn't as serious (although she would like to see him lose another kg), but I am waiting to talk to the rescue about that. As much as I love him and would like him to stay, Ginger hates him so he can't.

Well done! I know that it takes quite an effort, esp for a picky eater.

Cheers - his diet wasn't changed to being a picky eater though!! He was put on Hills r/d to help with the weight loss, but then developed crystals, so was on Hills c/d, then got cystitis, so we put him on a wet food only diet - and he has done really well since then (plus he had a dental just after Christmas, that could also have helped)

Spoke to the rescue earlier, and as the vets have given the go ahead, he has been put on the rehoming page. He will have been with me 6 months on the 22nd, so it will be hard, especialy as I have had to do so much work with him. I am going to be strict as to who he goes to though, as he does still have another kg to lose. Here are pics of him when he first came and now (can't get him in the same position yet though) - the now pic isn't that clever, he wouldn't keep his eyes open, I only took it cos my fav pic of him makes him look quite large, and I wanted a better one for the rehoming page
