Robb,

Name changes aren't usually done except under special circumstances, but you can PM Deb25 about your request. I did move this to her forum as well-

That happens more often than you'd think. "Kevin" has to be rechristened "Sheila", or what have you. Our "half cat", who was supposedly a spayed female when we took her in, turned out to have underdeveloped male genitalia (in addition to female genitalia), and had to be castrated in addition. We didn't change "her" name, though.

Yes, we had one of those situations, too. When we got Suzy and her litter mate, we asked for a boy and a girl, and were told they'd save one of each. Never thought to check when we picked them up. We named them Suzy and Samuel on the trip home, and a few days later took them to the vet to be checked over, etc. The vet took Suzy first, and examined her, while Samuel waited. Then the vet took Samuel, turned him around to have a look at his little butt, looked up and said, "Samuel, eh? Uh-uh, don't think so. See?...", grabbed him and Suzy each by the tail, swung them around and said, "...the same!" So, "Samuel" became Samantha.
