I am finally able to get my two front teeth fixed!! When I was little, probably about eight or nine, there was this older big girl that used to pick on me. She used to chase me and try to tickle me, but she hurt me when she did, so I ran from her. I tripped and fell and hit my two front teeth on the edge on the side walk. They were broken and I almost had nerve damage. My dentist at that time placed temporary bonding on them and it was okay for several years, but slowing my teeth starting hurting again. I will be 21 next month and I STILL have that same bonding on there. Since then, it has cracked and some has chipped off. Insurance won't pay for it because what I want done is considered cosmetic. Some of my nerves are exposed and it is very painful. It is going to cost me $200 to whiten my teeth, and $2000 to fix them. I am just so excited about it!! I don't like to smile because I feel like everyone stares at it...

Love to see before and after shots!

A silly question. You're not the rachel that had the horrible tummy problems? I can't stop thinking about the post that was here a few weeks ago and am so worried the girl involved is very ill! If it's not you - sorry. If it is it sounds like you are feeling better.

Good for you!!!!! You will think that it is the best $ you`ve ever spent.
I always had so many problems with my teeth all my life. I got upper dentures when I was 30 and lowers when i was about 45....and I LOVE them! I can finally smile as big as i want to and all that anyone can see is pretty teeth!
How soon are you getting this done?
We want to see a picture of your new smile when it`s all done! :-)

You will be amazed at how nice teeth will make you feel. I accidentally got smacked in the mouth with a toolbox (I pulled the wrong one down off the truck during a move) and damaged all of my upper teeth. I got upper dentures, and now I smiel a lot with my pretty white teeth.

Yes, I am. I had an x-ray and they said I don't have any blockage. I guess I'm okay..
I am still having problems, but I don't know what else to do. It's gotten to a point where I think they think I am imagining it, including my mom. Sometimes I double up from the pain and she just rolls her eyes.

Oh that's terrible! It must be sooooo frustrating. I have mild on going stomach problems, but how can they say your symptoms are in your head when they are so physical. Keep a journal so you know exactly how often, long etc your problems are. Sometimes the docs are right in that we think something happens more often than it actually does, because when we feel back, we feel so terribly bad. But your symptoms didn't sound like something you should dismiss.
It can be hard to be heard sometimes. I had an experience a few years ago, which had me off to a neurologist. He did all sorts of tests, including MRIs lumber punctures, muscle tests, xrays you name it. All he could tell me was a had an older person's brain, but didn't know why or what might come of it...my symptoms were gradually getting worse. So he wrote me off - must not be anything wrong because he couldn't find a disease to match. In the meantime I couldn't write on the blackboard, put my hair up, felt like I was drooling as the right side of my face was numb, had difficulty writing on paper and major memory problems where I would look at a student I had just been teaching for 6 months and not be able to remember their name. I would write words and be saying one letter and write something else...and more. but back to the point. He (the neurologist) couldn't help me. I saw a chiropractor (for other reasons) and he immediately recognised issues that could be helped so he put me on to a neurological chiro (only 2 in Australia) He put me through some amazing exercises etc and after a year I was almost back to normal. I hate to think where I would have ended up if I had accepted the first diagnosis of older persons brain, nothing we can do!!
So never give up. If you don't feel well, maybe consider alternatives other than regular doctors. You never know.

Update:

I went to get impressions made last friday to get custom whitening trays. I received the trays yesterday. I go back to the dentist on Feb 9th to get the temporary bonding off my two front teeth. I am a little scared because the bonding has been on my teeth for thirteen years (since I broke my teeth).
They are going to take the bonding off and saw down most of the tooth that is left
to fit me for veneers. Then they will put temporary's on and I have to wait about 3 more weeks for the veeners to arrive. I'm crossing my fingers that I will have them before my birthday!!
