For the past few months I ahve had this pain in my shoulder. The past month or so has gotten worse. and now by this week, it has doubled in pain, somedays I feel like crying.
Today I had enogh and mum took me to the ER this evening (4 hour wait later) The Doctor saw me and said I have a rotator cuff injury, in my right arm.
I'm now on a strong presciption painkillers, though I can't get them till tomorrow.. so I am sitting here, about to rip the shoulder off.

Any tips on how to help it? I am using the mouse with my left hand now, but I don't know what else to do.
Any and all tips are appreciated!

I'm sorry I don't have any advice for you, but do you know how you injured it?? Do you play sports? My boyfriend wrestled in his middle and high school years and he has something torn around his rotator cuff. His poor shoulders have been pulled out of socket and everything during wrestling. He had to take therapy for a while for his shoulder, but it is so injured that he has to have surgery to get it fixed. He hurts a lot and it breaks my heart.
He is trying to hold off getting the surgery as long as he can because he will have to learn to use his arm all over again. I hate that stupid wrestling!!
I asked him if he thought it was worth having such an injury over it and he said it was... I guess he really loved it.

I tore mine a few years ago and had the surgery to repair the tear. I was glad I did, but then I re-tore it last year while bucking hay. I ended up this time going to an accupuncutrist even though they told me I needed surgery again. A few treatments later the pain was gone.

Well, thanks for posting!!! Eric really has been complaining of a lot of pain in his right shoulder. He says it feels like a sharp to dull and intense "toothache" in his shoulder, right at the rotator cuff. He won't listen to me, though, so I guess I'll have to send him this thread!

Been there, done that, left it too long. It is finally only starting to get better a year after I went to the doctor. And my best friend who is a dr also said that those injuries can take over a year to heal. The shoulder is quite complicated. Because we use it so often, its hard to think of not doing anything with it. I didn't like painkillers, it is a fact that they slow down healing because you don't feel the pain as much as you did and so you use the injuried area like you did before which slows the healing process. The pain is there for a reason. Slow down. Rest. Don't do anything. It will heal much faster. Rest it as much as possible but also do gentle exercises. Did the doctor tell you what to do?? I sure hope he did! Well, its winter. Rent some dvds, get some books out of the library. You need this period to rest.
