Ok, it sounds terrible, but I have 2 cats that both have, what I've termed, stinky butts. Not sure if it is in that area but they both they both have an unpleasant odor. I read somewhere in these forums, that using baby wipes to clean their private areas can help, but it seems it's only a temporary solution. I tried bathing them once, but that was a disaster. I ended up using a wet towel to try and clean them and to remove some of their hair, but it doesn't really clean them. I don't know if all cats smell like this as these are my first cat pets I've had. Any suggestions?
One more thing, my younger kitten, 7 1/2 months approximately, still likes to chew things. Not to the point of destruction but more so that my other kitten ever did. Oreo, the chewing kitten, loves to chew on my acryrilic nails, to the point that I have to hide my hands under covers when I sleep, otherwise, he would come right up to them and start to chew. I'm pretty sure he's done teething, but I would like it if he didn't chew so much, especially my nice lamp shades. Using the spray repel stuff doesn't work.
Any ideas why he does this?

I'm sorry I have nothing to say about this, except your username is Nutmeg, and my brother's dog is Nutmeg. There were a bunch of dogs surrendered to the rescue group at one time during the fall and they all got fall spice type of names... go Nutmegs!

I'd recommend changing your cats food. Stinky butts means stinky poo..

What kind of cat food do you use? Using foods like Friskies and even Iams will make the kittys poo stink. Using foods like Science Diet and Authority have no by-products which means less stink and more nutrients for your cats. I just recently switched my adult cat (1 year) to Authority, which is the PetSmart brand. They have flavors like Chicken, Turkey, and even Catfish (The wetfood)

Science Diet is loaded with by products cept for the natures best that starts with two to four grains before the meat..

Authority is very good provided the cat doesnt have a grd corn issue... I use there wet food..

My question is what are the kitties eating??? do they eat only wet or dry or both??does the younger one have chew toys??

I have one kitty that gets stinky but and it is from a clogged anal gland. The glad then becomes unclogged and the smell is bad. I now know to give her a little squeese as I pet her to keep things open and clean o_0

I should mention glands can also become infected and that kitty would need to see a Vet.

For the chewing some kitties end up with oral fixations if they leave their mommy to soon. How old was your chewing kitten when it left mom?
