Does it really matter?

I read this article this morning. I haven't really been keeping tabs with the whole Pitt/Jolie thing but this article kind of rubbed the wrong way...it's a baby, a gift from God..who cares what it looks like!!. The media is so beauty oriented, no wonder people have body image issues!

That is pathetic. It is obviously a slow news day if they are reporting that.

Oh brother.

I've seen attractive couples have not so attractive babies and vice-versa. You're right - who cares? At least this baby will, by all appearances, have a good family (mother, can't say about Brad but Angelina appears to be totally devoted to her two children). Much more than we can say about some other *ahem* psycho Hollywood couple(s).
Even if it's not "beautiful" it hardly matters 'cause I'm sure they'll "fix it" later .

Whatever s/he looks like, they're going to have a great start in life!

That's so true. And can you imagine how the baby will feel when it gets older if s/he's not gorgeous?!

That's exactly what I was thinking!!..the kid isn't even born and already there is pressure!
Admittedly, I only scanned the article. I rarely read about celebrities because... well, not to be mean or anything, but I really don't care about them.
Anyway, it doesn't bother me. Here's why - When I found out my SIL was pregnant, I was thinking that they would have a great looking baby. If I know a cat is pregnant I'll daydream about how pretty the kittens will be.
As for making it a news article - well, thats silly, but most of the stuff printed about celebrities is anyways.

I was thinking that too when I read the article.

I'm still disgusted about the whole Pitt/Jolie thing in the first place!

I'm with you on that. I can barely stand to look at either of them now.

I used to think that Brad Pitt was gorgeous, but now...I just don't think so
I just can't believe they are pregnant already and now this. I think its too soon, too fast, too disgusting!

While I'm not particularly interested Ã:censor:n celebrity couples, I feel sorry for this kid in advance, because the media/public will expect "it" to be extraordinary. I really am reminded of Jamie Lee Curtis. She had extraordinarily beautiful parents, but could probably just be considered "very pretty". How difficult has it been for her? I do have a bit more sympathy for Pitt than many of my friends have, because I believe he, like many men, do pay attention to a "biological clock". I give him some credit for (attempting to) adopt Jolie's children, and for participating in her activities on behalf of UNICEF.

Ditto. My roommate rented Mr. & Mrs. Smith and I couldn't bring myself to watch it.

The other thing I just don't get is why people think all of this is just so incredible. That it's just unbelievable that Brad and Jen broke up. Why it is unbelievable - because the public wanted them to stay together because they were cute? And now this is SUCH a big deal. Brad and Angelina have essentially been together for a year or longer. This happens all the time. At least they were together longer - and actually DID things together (like travelling with Angelina's UN duties and going together to adopt Zahara) that require them to get to know each other as people and not just as stars (i.e. movie premiers). They were together longer than a few weeks like psycho Tom and Katie. This type of situation happens all the time with regular people, and no one gets more than a few little whispers.

And I've been seeing news stories that - shock of all shocks! - Jennifer wasn't contacted about the baby! Seriously - who cares? Does every man who gets a divorce call his ex to fill her in? I don't think so.

Same here... I call them "the cheater and husband stealer" But that is par for the course for celeb couples.

Well, I for one, don't think Brad Pitt is all that good looking, and I don't understand what it is about him that other people find good looking. I think Angelina Jolie is beautiful, though. I'll admit though that the first thing I thought was that this baby will probably be beautiful, if it takes after it's mother. However, could you imagine it having her full lips and Brads, tiny little squinty eyes? I guess it doesn't matter, though. I'm sure the child will be well loved.

I think that we tend to forget that a baby is an absolute miracle.

I guess that most of what is written in magazines is not any where near the truth, but Iam not sure why they arent aloud to move on from a relationship that isn't working. If it was the other way around, Jennifer leaving because Brad wouldn't have children would there still be the same dislike for the new couple. Time just keeps moving on and being an older father didn't seem to be something Brad Pitt was up for.

I would say that at the age of 42, Brad Pitt is all ready what one would consider an "older father". Let's face it, he is actually old enough to be a Grandfather.

No, no it doesn't matter and I'm with you on being sick of hearing about it. I mean, don't get me wrong, I wish them no ill will. It's more this media and cultural obsession that bothers me so very much.

I am with you there Heidi. So what if they are pregnant. We don't know the full story of their love and Jen and Brad's separation/divorce. That is between those three. I have other things to worry about, such as my own family, than worrying about the private lives of the rich and famous. If they are happy together, then so be it. And I agree with mistys mum - what if it was the other way around. Would people hate Jen more if she had declared her love for vince vaughan first? Who, by the way, is no prize himself. Get over it. They are entitled to their own lives. We don't know the full facts - we only know what the media wants us to know and we all know what the media is like.

Thank God I'm not the only one who's sick to death of this Angelina/Brad baby business. I mean, the day their reps confirmed the pregnancy it was the "top story" of the day. Give me a break! There are more important things going on in this world than that and not to mention she's not the first or only woman in the world to have a baby. I have to say though, that she will make a great mom, it's just obvious how much she loves her children.
With Angelina's track record I doubt they'll last together more than a couple of years anyway.
They are not considering the recesive genes that come into play. Most of the "beautiful" holloywood types have much plainer sibling these are genes the child can also inherit. Catherine Zeta Jones has her grandmothers skin color and I don't believe either of her children do.

LOL! How true is that. It is the latest flavor of the month, now that Tom and whats-her-jiggy have fallen off the page.

I'm fed up of hearing about them. If I was Jen I'd be having a nervous breakdown. The media pretend to be her friend but then the next minute bombard her and everyone else with pictures of her very recent ex husband with his new lady, and go on about how beautiful she is etc etc. That would make me sick.
Im sure the baby will be beautiful but it just shows you shallow things are if the media are already concentrating on how this child will look when Angelina must only be a few weeks gone.
I hope it does work, for the childrens sake but I'm with Team Aniston all the way!!

To be honest, has anyone ever seen those pictures of Angelina Jolie with out make up or hairdo?? Oh my god, those celebrities are nothing better than us, except that they get to wear loads of make up to fix them selves.
I personally dont think Angelina Jollie is good looking, Pitt looked better with Jen but anyway thats not my business!

On ninemsn, i saw a few weeks ago that they made a virtual baby and i have to say it looked pretty ugly
