I love the French Vanilla Cappucino from our Speedway gas station here.

I really wish we would get a Starbucks though

Starbucks, but it's expensive, so I started buying the syrups and flavorings and making my own at home.

You know, I've never been to a Starbuck's
? I usually just have a couple of cups of coffee in the morning, otherwise it's the occasional cup of hot tea. There's just something so dang ... luxurious ... about a cup of tea. Maybe because I don't frequently make one. Iced tea, of course, is de rigueur during the summer months
.

That's one of my favourite places too!!

I also like to go to small family owned cafes or to Cafe Nero (as they have a kind of reward card that you get stamped and end up being able to get a free hot drink!!)

I only drink tea, but my BF loves either Timmys or Second Cup... although the tea is better at second cup so we usually go there, but that leads to tasty biscottini treats

They have also moved into New England. I have one right down the road. I LOVE Starbucks, but normally go to Dunkin Donuts.

My favorite coffee is from WaWa, Dunkin Donuts and Caribou. There are also a few small independently owned shops I try to frequent as well. Starbucks is "ok", but not the best. Where I live, they are a dime a dozen. You are not missing much at all.

I like the frozen cappucinos and frozen lattes they sell at QuikTrip. I think it's a midwestern thing. LOL

I don't drink coffee, but I'm ALWAYS drinking hot tea!

Now that I've started grad school I make sure to run to the campus bookstore, where there's a Starbucks inside, and get a grande chai tea latte with soy milk to get me through my 3 hour long classes.

Starbucks isn't my fave though, Teavana is actually my FAVORITE place to go for some hot tea! Their Karmacarmachai's are AMAZING and they have the best selection of loose leaf teas to purchase for your home I've seen anywhere. They have every kind of tea imaginable not to mention some beautiful tea sets for sale along with books and all sorts of goodies. Here's a link to their site, if you're a tea lover you've GOT to check it out: http://store.teavana.com/

Totally agree here..Also, they have some less than stellar and highly unscrupulous business practices when it comes to outing small independent run coffee houses
...To me, they are like the Walmart of coffee places

I like Second Cup (Canada) or locally owned places. Usually the best are found in Little Italy neighbourhoods

I like Starbucks but i go there to "treat" myself, its not a usual stop. The gas station down from my house makes the best vanilla caramel cappucinos- yum and its only .99!!!!!!!!!

I couldn't have said it better. I really liked going to SB when they first came to the East coast over 10 years ago, but as you mentioned, many smaller shops just can't compete. In downtown DC, it's not unusual to have two or 3 Starbucks on the same block.
