I love reading on this board about the crazy behaviors of everybody's cats. I want to know of all the things that your kitties demand of you, what do you think is the silliest/cutest?

For me, it is my big girl Blueberry, who sometimes will meow at me...to CARRY her to her food bowl! She knows there is food in it, and if I walk with her, she follows me, but she will not eat. Then, when I leave the room where her food is, she will come meowing her face off at me. I have to pick her up, put her down in front of the bowl, give her a pet on the back, and then, she eats.

Let me hear about your kitties

Sometimes my Precious makes me carry her to her food dish too.

They always have to go IN and OUT and IN and OUT and IN and OUT and...you get the idea.

Ummm, to sleep on my bed, the radio has to be tuned to our favorite station (my favorite station is their favorite too I guess haha), the shades 2/3 of the way closed, the blankets on a certain way, and I have to pet them.

the "in and out" thing is especially funny, and quite familiar!

Mooch HAS to sit on my chest all the time if I am sitting on the couch. She demands it! It was cute and wonderful when she was still tiny! Now she's big and it gets real hard to breath! Not to mention 'everything' she squishes in the process! It can be quite painful let-me-telll-you!

There's no place like home
The most demanding cats in the house are those that were orphaned and we bottle fed. When Scarlett wants attention, she goes into her "it's all about ME!" mode. Crawls up on you and kicks off anyone in her way.

But Muddy takes the cake. He turns on his "ME" mode at least once a day and he keeps it on anywhere from 10 minutes to hours. During this time, he will not let you do anything but pick him up, fling him on your left shoulder (it must be the left, he hates the right), nibbles your hair, carry him over to the ceiling fan chain where he bats at it for a while, lowered down to chest level and carried for an indefinite period of time. If you try to sit down, he gets mad and runs away. You must be standing and carrying him when he is in "ME" mode. If you set him down and walk away, he follows you, trips you, or bites your toes until you stop. He stands on his hind legs with his paws stretched on your thigh, and you must pick him up and start the ritual all over again.

If he wasn't soooooo adorably cute we wouldn't put up with it. He has actually done this for hours on end. Nothing gets done when Muddy is in "ME" mode.

We have about 3-4 funny things. Rocky likes to be rolled with the lint roller. When DH starts doing the furniture, he will come up, start meowing pitifully until until you do it. He then starts purring and rolling around. Rocky also will jump on your leg and meow pitifully- he's really like a dog that needs attention. He also likes to play fetch with milk tags- and only in the morning when I'm supposed to be at work.
We also trained them to do this one- we have these plastic motorized birds that you attach with a string to the ceiling. When you turn them on they fly around in a circle. The cats love this. We will sometimes pick them up and let them try to "catch" the bird. Right now its actually not a bird but a pig w/wings.

Pearl must have the comforter rolled up and next to me so she can cuddle properly. She has gotten a little less insistent since the new kitty came, and the next night I forgot she was there and rolled her off the bed at 4 am. Now she has her own blanket, which her majesty must have folded and placed properly between our pillows, so she can lie on it with her back to the other cats. She has turned into a real little princess since she decided she would come out of hiding and grace us with her presence. She must be petted at all times until she wants you to stop, then she will hiss or meow at whoever is petting her. I love it! I never thought she would be anything close to a normal cat, and would hide her entire life.

Let's see...

One insists that I share my dinner with him.

A few insist on being picked up and carried around.

Harvey wants me to feed him on the counter. I refuse because there is no reason he can't eat on the floor with the others. I just pretend I don't understand what he's asking and I end up saying (out loud, sadly), "Sorry, I can't understand you. I don't speak Dorky Cat".

I can't believe I just typed that last sentence.

Oh the in-and-out thing for sure. It's not silly or crazy - although considering how many times a night I get up to do it maybe it is....

Our kits have the option of climbing out through the bedroom window whenever they want. So, they spend half their night asleep on the bed and half their night in and out the window. The thing is, we have heavy wooden blinds and so I have to lift them out of the way for the kitters to go out.

It's loud, it's clattery, it's consistent. Last night I desperately needed sleep and was fed up, so when Sunday went out for the fifth time I closed the window tight. That didn't work, though, did it? She just sat outside it and cried until I let her in again...

Tola likes it when I get the plastic golf balls out from under wherever they are OVER AND OVER AND OVER again. She will sit in front of the couch or TV stand where the ball is and just stare at me pitifully until I come over there and get it out for her.

She also likes it when I crouch next to her during her "second stage" of eating. She likes to eat when I'm beside her at that point.

IF I sit on the couch ANY TIME I simply MUST put a treat on my lap for her or she will just sit there looking at me until I do (it could go on for hours).

when abi wants her chin or tummy rubbed she will lie in my lap and place my hands (she literaly grasps them with her paws) where she wants them and just closes her eyes halfway with this almost silent little trill of a swoon, thats my signal to start petting her, when she's done she shifts position to tell me to stop. I obey.

when she wants intense play time she will gallop into the den, hop on the sofa and softly meow until I come over with her favoorite scrunchy and ribbons on a string.

this week she has trained my husband to run up and down the stairs with her. the stairs have three turns to them so she gets to hide at each corner and entice him to chase her. they both love it.

Sonny used to jump up in bed in the middle of the night. First he would headbutt one of us. If ignored he would move to the other. He would keep doing this until one of us would wake up and pet him.

The silliest...
Well, Usva and my little brother used to have this crazy stunt: My brother would run about the house carrying Usva, pretending she's a Star Wars X-wing fighter, with the appropriate sound fx (did I mention he was 18 at the time?
). He would make wild curves, missing furniture only just, and as the grand finale, I extended my arm and he threw Usva over it, ran under it himself and caught her midair on the other side, continuing running. Weirdly enough, Usva loved it, she kept harassing him to do that again and again.

He doesn't visit us so often nowadays and I can't do it properly, so Usva is earthbound 'till further notice.

Gosh, I could go on all day on this one! Perhaps the best concerns my parents. We had a cat Snowy, who would beg at the table. She was rather elderly (about 19 when she passed-just this fall
) and both my parents would pre-chew any pieces of meat they fed her. (I am vegetarian so I did not qualify
)

I sometimes pre chew food for Hobbs because he eats such little pieces. Sheesh, thought I was the only fanatic to do that for my cat. Guess not
