Ive got a daughter in college 750 miles away, and my son is going away to college in the Fall. After that no more "little ones" (human types) in the house
To tell it like it is......it sucks! I miss my daughter all the time, and I'm starting to miss my son, even though he is still here until August, I know how I will feel when he leaves. I am super close to my kids, and I know we have to let them go some time, but this is like having your best friends leave you. To all those who are parents and have young children, hold on to all those precious times together NOW, because it doesnt last forever, even though we wish it would

awwwwwww. Im familiar with the "blocking it out" strategy. Before my daughter left I would think "dont think about it now". But time always catches up! Well at least we can be sad together

Well, I'm not a mom... but you won't miss your kids so much the summer after college freshman year when they come back to live with you and are aweful!!!

(I know, cause I was the kid!)

*hugs* though for missing, I missed my MOM alot when I moved out. lol

My oldest is 22 and lives out of state. Then I have a 16 y/o, 10 y/o, and 6 y/o. However, when I quit having more babies, I started fostering kittens. While it isn't quite the same as having a baby in the house, it does keep me busy and occupied.

I am not trying to minimize the loss you feel when your baby grows up, but if you can find a new interest, it will help a lot!

Hugs to you for the great job you have done raising those tiny babies to be such grown up children!

Movin' on up!
No "empty nest syndrome" here. MY kids are out of the house and I'm still young enough to enjoy it!
