Ok I have this little rule for myself, eat whatever you want in December to celebrate the holidays and worry about it later. I have never had any problems with my weight. I usually fluctuate within 10-12 pounds. I go through phases where I eat a lot and then go a week or 2 where I eat hardly anything and lose whatever weight I gained quickly.
Well apparently as one gets older (I am 26 now) it takes just a little longer to lose the pounds. I am taking a nutrition class this semester and I did a quiz last night that said I was overweight by 2 pounds. I didn't think you could really notice that I had gained a couple of pounds and it didn't really bother me. Well this morning I was joking about it with a coworker and she said "Well I noticed you have put on a few pounds but your not fat"

Was that supposed to make me feel better?

Since her comment I have been sitting here feeling uncomfortable. I was starving but I am not so hungry anymore either.
Guess I am on a diet now!

just imagine what it will be like in 10 years. besides you seem to have a high enough metabolism that if you work out you should burn it off. don't go hungry though because your body will think it is starving and you will gain even more weight!

I've gone through life always thinking I was 5 pounds overweight. I'm 23 and regret I ever thought that. I was perfect! Now I've gone up a couple pant sizes and for some reason I don't go down. The thing is now I'm not even that big but I think I'm so concerned because my mother is a large woman and I don't want to end up like that.

I've had a coworker flat out say "You've gained a few pounds." He never minced words but you still find youself dumbfounded by the comment.

I think that's my problem as well... Once year, I think I was about 14, we were preparing Christmas dinner and my Dad made the comment "Your shaped like your Mother". Way to go Dad!

That might have done me in.
Seriously though, I think it just made me realize that I really should watch what I eat. It isn't really a matter if dieting, but of eating healthy. I do NOT eat healthy by any means and have begun doing so today

Let me tell you ladies, it all starts to stick once you hit 30! Unless you're really active of course. I never had to even think about what I ate until I hit 30. Then I started gaining a pound here a pound there. I'm now 38 and could stand to lose about 15 lbs. I'm only 5 feet tall, so if I'm not careful I'll look pretty round really quickly!
