He`s working on the "cat barn"!

My Hubby is building a "cat barn" for Toby & Tedy. It is going to be sooo cute and they are going to LOVE IT!
It has 2 tiers inside all covered with carpet. They will be able to go in and out of the barn door and hang their heads out the 2 upper windows (like hay mow openings at each end) while laying on the different levels. There are also lower level windows that we are debating on whether to put plexiglass in or just leave open . I vote on leaving them open....so the cats can stick their heads out of them. What do you guys think???
I`m going to go down to the basement and give the barn it`s second coat of red paint , hopefully this afternoon. It will have white trim around the windows and doors...and I think he is thinking of putting real shingles on the roof.
Does anyone out there in TCS Land know if the tar-stone products in house shingles will be anything that could bother Toby & Tedy in any way???
I`ll post pics when it is finished! I`m so excited just knowing how much the "boys" are going to enjoy this little barn!

I once took a large computer box, turned it upside down, and covered it with old blue jeans (which cats just love) and also placed blue jeans on the floor of the "blue jeans house." It had small windows and a door. It was a favorite hangout, which they fought over, for about half a year.

Your cat barn sounds much more sophisticated.

I`ll post pictures when it`s done. I just gave it the last coat of red paint. Now all he has to do is make the trim so I can paint it white and put the oofing on. I can`t wait to have it done so the "boys" can see it. They should`nt have to "fight" over it as it`s plenty big enough for both of them.
Bet not everyone has a BARN for their livingroom! (Or wants one for that matter!)...actually I sort of wanted a "CAT HOUSE", but Hubby really had his heart set on the barn...and since he`s building it I thought I`d let him have his way....this once. :-)

Next time you`ll have to get a bigger box so all your cats fit and they don`t have to fight over it!!!
If you need a BIGGER pair of blue jeans to fit the BIGGER box just let me know. We have some EXXX large sizes floating around here! :-)

Maybe not...but at least they`d have more room to fight in! :-)

The barn sounds adorable! What a sweet hubby you have!

You knew that if you posted about it here, we'd all demand PICTURES!! As soon as it's done. That's very nice of him to do that for the cats, too. I'm sure they will love it.
