Yeah, there's a thread about it in IMO. After a heads up by another member, I did some of my own research because I was convinced at first that it was a hoax. Apparently, not only is it not a hoax, but it is a condition that can occur in many animals, including humans. What happens in cases that severe, called
alobal holoprosencephaly, is that the brain does not develop into two lobes at all, causing facial and other deformities. (There are other, less severe, variations of the condition.) When it is as severe as it was in the kitten Cy's case, it is incompatible with life.
