Max and I were surfing the menu on cable, and we noticed the title of a movie that looked like it had a typo. And I said to Max, `You know, I guess if it's ALL you did you're bound to make a mistake sooner or later.' and then, `Wouldn't that be the WORST job?? Being the person who sits there and constantly updates the cable menu'.

And it got me to thinking - what do you think would be the WORST job?? The object of this thread is kind of like a game - think up the most innovative WORST job in the world!!

So that's mine. Programming the menu on cable.

Yours??

I work for a religious official, but the job before this was working for a lawyer, and I have worked for several of them. The jokes are TRUE, folks. They treat everyone like an adversary, including their staff. Never again. LOL

BTW, I worked my way through secretary school in the early 1980s as a hospital housekeeper and a department store clerk, and I would go back to that before I'd be screamed at by some overeducated jerk again. Some jobs are what you make them. LOL

Working in the melt department of any foundry in the middle of July (for those that don't know the melt department is where they turn solid metal into liquid metal)

President!

everyone will always have something to complain about

you will almost never do anything right

no one would notice if you did!

everyone could and does tell you how to do your job better

ok so the benefits aren't bad and people kiss up to you...to your face! but then they go on cnn and badmouth you.....I'd rather scoop elephant poo! At least I'd get to pet the elephant!

Isn't there a new show about the world's worst jobs, like on Discovery Channel? I've seen some pretty bad ones...I think it's called "Dirty Jobs" or something?

How about taking care of a grumpy person who cannot wipe themselves.
Sorry, kinda graphic, but that would definitely be a BAD job.

This one has my brain a cranking. There's been so many I can remember thinking "man I bet THAT job sucks!" But they're escaping me now. I've always admired people who work in Hospice House. Getting to know the terminally ill, caring for them, forming relationships with them... I could not keep the wonderful, personable attitudes they do.

How about the person who has to change the light bulbs in radio towers?
Especially, IMO, what would REALLY suck is you climb all the way up there, and find out the replacement bulb you brought is already dead!
