My 5 year old indoor Tabby, Diego, has been leaving small spotty traces of blood on our counter surfaces. Diego is not declawed and his claws are intact and not torn or ragged. Diego has a Sisel cat scratch post. The area of his claw closest to his paw is dark and almost black (dried blood?) Has anyone out there ever experienced this? A visit to the vet is next, but just curious if anyone knows anything regarding bloody claws. Thanks, Michy

A few weeks ago Bijou had bleeding thumbs on both front feet. We figured he must have gotten "stuck" and had to pull too hard to free himself. We took him to the vet and since there was no infection, she just suggested we let it heal on it's own but keep an eye open for inflammation/infection.

He healed fine.
