I'm really, REALLY nerveous about my bro's cat... it has a problem with cleaning up on her behind. It seems that poop get's stuck to her behind. So, what I did about two days ago was I had to clip stuck poop off her rear end. Even though she's my bro's cat. (brothers....)

Anyways, so, i cleaned her rear end. But, what is really troubling me is...
it seems the base of her tail is very tender. I tried massaging her. I tried reading a book and looking at several articles and websites. But, i didn't manage to find what to do and what is troubling her... I mean I know that it is hurting her. So... I need a little advice on what to do.

One thing i can do is take her to the vet, but i wanted to know what is going on.

Also, here's a little history... My bro's cat is 8 years old. She seems to take naps a lot. My bro's cat has had her rear end shaved. I've cleaned my bro's cat's rear end with cat wipes/baby wipes. When we clean her rear end, she makes a wierd noise and starts to lick her paws or something close by, like crazy. If I wipe her rear end for too long her rear end hole starts to bleed.

So, I just need some good advice on what to do. Thank you for your concern and your time.

I dont know much about those kind of problems but, I think that he need to have his anal glands expressed. Which the vet can do.

Many cats have a very sensitive spot at the base of their tails. When touched there, they may start cleaning themselves excessively so this may all be a normal reaction. You can search through past posts on the forum and find a lot of threads on this.

How much does his cat weigh by chance?

It sounds to me like the area is very sore and should be looked at.
If you must clean the area again (whether it's feces or blood) before his kitty can be seen, I would pat the spot rather that wipe it as it's painful. If possible, keep the area dry.
She is most likely licking her paws (which can also turn into nibbling) when you clean her rear end because it's itchy. I have that happen quite a few times when certain spots on some cats are shaved.

Have her rear end and the base of her tail looked at....and as the previous posters have said, ask about her anal glands and whether they should be expressed. Good luck!
