I can say that I don't think I've noticed it being a big problem before? But I'll have to be a little more observant.

I didnt mean to offend anyone. I guess that's just me. I grew up in a home where everyone joked about everything and no one got offended. My boss has a couple of jokes about women hanging in his office and I have to be honest, they crack me up.

So called gender bashing is usually related to immediate personal emotions and events, so I don't expect people to behave perfectly 100% of the time. It would have to get out of hand before it would become a legitimate issue in my opinion. I have seen loads of sexist and negative comments on other forums, but at TCS I haven't seen any such comments that really got out of hand and for that I am truly impressed.

i have noticed a lot of posts where the first reaction is to say 'LEAVE HIM' etc, i don't believe responses like this help anyone, firstly because if a woman has issues with her man she should try to sort them out with him, not anyone else and if she doesn't talk to him then nothing will change, she can't expect things to get better by talking to everyone but him.

yes women have had tough times in the past but that's life, it isn't every mans fault and we shouldn't take it out on them all the time.

as for blonde jokes, i think they are great and funny and i'm a blonde so if anyone should get offended it should be me

Ahhh now...a little gender bashing never hurt anyone...not really. lol

Really I think it's just human nature to vent about the opposite sex. Easily done and easily forgotten.

I have never noticed general bashing of either sex. If the "leave him" threads are at the root of this topic, I think it's only natural to "defend our own" and I think you would see the same if a guy was venting. There would be plenty of "leave her" posts.

I dont agree, I think they are very offensive.

You wouldnt make jokes out of me for having white skin, so why make jokes because I have blonde hair?! It just encourages a negative stereotype.

(by 'you', I dont mean anyone in particular).

I agree completley.

On other forums I have joined the women have been outwardly hostile to the male members and resented their presence.

I think its only natural for women to make jokes about men whilst in the company of other women (and vice versa). As long as there is no malice involved I dont see the problems.

However, if it does become out of hand or if anyone feels threatend, insulted or slighted by the comments then they should speak up or report it to a mod.

each to their own and my husband and i do make jokes about most things, not just blondes, if you are easily offended i suggest you never visit our place

maybe Aussies are just more laid back with some things because with the diverse range of jokes that are told at my place iv'e never offended anyone, infact, they love it
