Today I lost one of my fur babies.
He came into our lives so suddenly and unexpected. His mother was a stray that wondered to my mothers house who is my neighbor by the way, and she had kittens there. She gave birth to 3 and one died after being born. The others who I took under my care after their mother left was a solid white female I named Daffney and a bob tail tabby I called Fella. I tried very hard to get them to stay inside but they were born outside and spent the first month or so outside with their mother. They both ended up getting back into the outside world. They loved it. We live in the country in the woods so they had plenty of roaming space and spent their days playing. Fella was very special, he loved to be held and talked constantly. He use to sit outside with my hubby while he did yard work. Like to ride in the car and on peoples shoulders. He ocassionally came inside for visits but never stayed in long. This morning he wondered to the road and was hit and killed by a car. My poor baby. He was with us for over a year and stole a special place in my heart. Oh, how I wish I could have gotten him to stay inside. We buried him next to the wood pile where he was born and where my mother's dog Brittany is buried. Brittany loved cats and Fella loved to cuddle with dogs, so they will be together at the Rainbow Bridge.

It is always so hard to say goodbye. Prayers of strength being sent your way. Perhaps when you feel stronger, you can visit this website and find a poem that expresses what you feel? Until then, just know that kitty is out of pain and you will meet again.

No one knows exactly how you feel right now, so I will skip the trite cliches. . . . . .It is harder to loose the ones to senseless accidents then those who are sick or succumb to old age. Each time I have lost a sweet kitty babe I always say I will be stronger and not let myself get attached to another one so it won't ever hurt as bad again, but who am I kidding; that makes just about as much sense as spitting into the wind; all it gets you is a gooey goober back in your face ! In walks another piece of furry heaven on four soft paws and steals your heart away again (Thank God) Bookitty, I know you will never stop loving feline friends because you took the time to respond to Fella and all the countless others who have and will need you. For all of them I Thank You. . . . . . . . . . Threeleggedkat

Dear Bookkitty,
I read your post and I am so upset for you. I know there is nothing anyone can say or do to mend the broken heart you have right now. Just have Faith and Trust in the Lord and know that your little Fella went over Rainbow Bridge and will be waiting to meet you there one day. As Darlene had mentioned (ThreeleggedKat) you will be given an opportunity some will not be afforded; that is to love another kitty. Some people don't know how or what this takes. I have a very good feeling that you do. For me, I have never been given a misfortune without a blessing in return from the Lord. My cat Kadaffi blessed me with 18 years and has been passed away now for about 2 weeks. I was very upset, but in the bottom of my heart...I know that I will love again. No kitty will ever replace him, but no kitty will ever replace any kitty; they are beautiful and unique in everyway. Ya know what I'm saying? Pray for Fella, know we are here for you and we will support you as these people did for me.
God Bless You Darling....& Your little Fella
Always,

Bookkitty, I am so sorry to hear of this. It sounds like Fella was a wonderfully sweet lil' guy. It's so heartbreaking to hear of tragedies as such. Life is so short and even more so for our feline babies. I am sure that he is happily chasing lizards and butterflies in a wide-open green field across the rainbow bridge. My deepest, heartfelt condolances go out to you. I am truly sorry.

I want to thank you all for your support and condolences, it means alot to me to have people to talk to. It's been two days now and it's still hard for me to go outside because he's not out there to greet me and jump up on my back for a ride. It will be hard in the sping, his favorite time of year. He loved chasing the birds and they dive bomb over his head, it was hilarious to watch. Anyway, just wanted to thank you all.
