Welcome back Sherral! I haven't been around for quite a long time myself.

Congrats on the new business, the new dog, the new house (almost), and moving to Virginia! It is beautiful there, isn't it? I sure hope all goes well with everything. Sending hopes for a great 2006, and I'm so sorry you have to sue to get visitation rights with your grandchildren! That's not right!

I don't know your story, but I've always thought it important that grandparents get access rights. I'd pleased to hear there are laws in place to allow this. Good luck!

Sherral, I've spent the past several weeks/months wondering how you've been doing, and how the move went. Welcome back! So, what do you think of your new home? Can you settle in there? Don't pay any attention to your son's lady friend - if anybody qualifies as a good granny, you do! How have you been doing? Even though we always manage to be at political loggerheads, I wonder about you often. How are hubby, the grandkids, your sons, and the kitties doing? How are you coping with the move?

Good to see you back Sherral. Hope you get settled in well.

I'm moving into a new house, too - got fed up with Bill and am buying my own house.

Ted and I love it here,we ordered our house yesterday,a double wide,3 bedroom's 2 bath, with a dream kitchen,We can't wait to put it in,we are putting it on top of a hill, with views for miles!we have to clear the hill of some trees,we are not removing all of them as soon as we are in we will be taking ton's of pictures.,My youngest son moved down to VA when we did,his grilfriend and her daugther and his have been my life saver.I only have 1 siamese left,my mom keep 2 that I had, did't know when we left, what we could handle. we are living with my uncle till our house is in.

Sherral, I've got mine on order, too: 3 bedrooms, 2 baths and nice big kitchen. Now, I just need to find some bedroom furniture and bookcases.

Mine is a Silver Ridge by Fleetwood. With all the options, the house is $64,900 and we're allowing $40,000 for the land but it will probably be less. All appliances, carpet and window treatments are included, as well as the foundation and set up. I can do without the fireplaces (wouldn't use them anyway) but the glamour bath is nice. Instead of a dinette set, I'm going to install a bar between the dining and family rooms. Bedroom #2 will be computer/sewing room and #3 will probably become a shoe closet
.

Here's the floor plan:

Virginia is gorgeous, and has the definite advantage of less snow than upstate New York. My eldest niece, born and bred in PA, and then transplanted to Nebraska, where she never felt quite at home, is a teaching assistant at Virginia Tech, in Blacksburg. She loves it! My sister, her s.o., and L.`s youngest brother went to visit in August, and they're still raving about VA. Insist on your grandmother's rights! You've been such a hands-on granny to the kids that your role is really important for their development. I really hope that you'll be posting more, now that the move is nearly complete.
