Hi, my name is Charles and I just recently adopted two young cats. I found this great site in my search for knowledge!

My first cat is Brittny an orange short hair striped tabby. She's been a great cat and she's made me realize that I was more of a cat person than I ever thought I was. I always thought of myself as a dog person prior to her and would have adopted a dog but living in an apartment swayed me to get a cat instead. I'm just amazed at how much personality she has.

Well after a few weeks with Brittny, I gave in and decided it would be a good idea to adopt another cat to keep her company. Thats when I got Cash, he's a medium hair black/white cat around the same age as Brittny (6 months). Things were bumpy at first with some hissing and growling but they've become pretty good buddies now. They play constantly and I caught them grooming each other last night

Unfortunately Cash has been fighting a URI so I've been giving him meds. I think he's doing better though. Hopefully he will get over it soon.

Anyway I just wanted to introduce myself and my two cats. Thanks

Hi Charles....a great big welcome to you and Brittny and Cash.
I hope Cash gets well soon.
I`m glad that your fur babies are getting along good now. Mine were about 6 months when they met....and I was`nt a member of TCS then, so did`nt know anything about "introductions" so there was no separation time for them. Resident kitty hissed at the new one for a couple days (the new one had come from a home with about 20 other cats....so he`d just look at the other one like "what`s your problem anyhow?". By the 3rd day they were playing together.
I think both of them still being so young helped make the transition go more smoothly....but i see now that it could have been a disaster.

Thanks for the warm welcome everyone. I'm happy to say that Cash appears to be over his URI and conjunctivitus. The other good thing is he is gaining weight. When I got him from the shelter he was very frail, I could feel his bones. I just noticed last night that couldn't feel his spine anymore.

I'll have to break the camera out and take a few pictures of them playing when I get a chance.
