Last night I was brushing my teeth and found two teeth that look like severe chips or possibley a weird front cavity... I for $$ reasons need to wait till next week to have any work done... I am also terrrified of dentists and havent seen one in about 5 -7years

I don't think that sounds like an emergency, so you could probably wait a week to go to the dentist. That does sound like you really can't put off going to the dentist anymore! I understand your fear. I loath going to the dentist the way my cat loath's going to the vet, but, if you don't take care of your teeth not only can you lose them, but they can also affect the rest of your body's health. Explain your fear to the dentist, I'm sure you'll find him/her very understanding.

Legit fear. I had a maniac for a dentist as a kid. he could care less if he hurt you. Dentistry has come a long way since then, Thank-God! I think you'll find it a very different experience today. I would suggest getting a reference from some other people you know so you don't end up with someone you dislike. Good luck!

Are they your front teeth??? I have off and on been grinding my teeth at night (stress). The dentist I was going to at the time wanted to make be a mouth guard to wear at night but speaking with people who have worn them-its a pain-you get cotton mouth and drooling!!! My current dentist doesn't say too muchbut I can feel I must have chipped off another piece-I seehim later this month so I'll see what he says. But if anyone grinds their teeth-I read this a long time ago in Glamour magazine-you need to relax your jaw-stick your tongue between your front teeth to relax your jaw. While I javen't done this for a few months once you get in the habit I feel it really helps!!

Good luck hun. I know how it feels to be terrified of the dentist, and I hope it turns out to be a quick easy visit. I'll be thinking of you next week.
